I was looking forward to this game. During my time as a student, they managed 6 wins in 4 years. I didn't think they'd be back after the magical run in 2012. Then I saw the early deficit today, and the penalty yardage early, and I knew they were done for. Looking forward to the bowl game they're in and hopefully a win can be brought back. NIU is a Thorn in everyone's side in this conference.

Also what makes this game even more impressive is that NIU was missing one of there biggest playmakers and arguably there best receiver (tyrice Richie) who before his injury had a great shot at going to the NFL

Kent State Qb was absolutely lack luster. No heart behind anything he did. As a Bears fan, this was a Jay Cutler performance

I hate Northern Illinois. I'll never forgive them for 2012. Dri Archer was better than Lynch, IMO.

Kent State beat themselves. Stupid P.I. penalties they could've avoided. Miscommunication between the qb and wr. Just a mess. That was hard to watch. NIU wasn't the better team. Just more disciplined and put together.

@@aaronkovacevic9601 When I say better, I mean more talented. Very few times did NIU look like they could hold a candle to KSU. so many big plays were squandered by KSU.

What??? NIU was up 28 in this game and won by 18 if Kent state was the "better team" they wouldn't have lost by 3 scores and wouldn't be 7-6.

@@lim3lif3 what? NIU destroyed them, you don’t need a big play every drive to win. They couldn’t stop the run. NIU just was a better team and the score showed that. Also talent wise Kent state is just not talented or else they would have played better. Talent doesn’t go away when you’re losing
