Kentucky Derby Champion, Mage, Returns to the Races in the 2023 Haskell Stakes 

Oustanding coverage of the pre and post Haskell! Thank you Pharoah! Mage we knew before the race was only at 85% conditioning and ran a great race, besides looking bigger and stronger than in the Derby. My personal favorite for the Travers along with Arcangelo. Arabian Knight had all the excuses to fold. Everyone ran against him and was restrained by Johnny V but after being passed by the winner and second place Mage kept on going in the stretch and closing back on Mage at the end. This colt hadn’t run in 6 months but this race will tune him up for the Travers. Geaux Rocket Ride ran a fantastic race putting Arabian Knight away and then had another gear to repell Mage’s attack and is by Candy Ride that throws a lot of quality in his good ones (and has several this 3 year old crop). Tapit Thrice should take a break.

I am very impressed with the way Mage came up the three path with such gusto. Castellano and Mike Smith are Hall of famers as obvious by Jockeys smartness.Definately ready for the Travers distance after this speed favoring Monmouth park.Geaux Rocket Ride is very sharp and rested with champion rider Mike Smith showing up 😀👍.

Mage was really impressive, hoping he stays healthy for the Travers and maybe the BC. Rocket ride was clearly the best though and proved himself can't wait for his next race with mage !

Eye-opener for sure. Both Arabian Nights and Extra Anejo get a pass this time. Mage looked awesome as did Rocket Ride especially, going off at almost 13 to 1. Great coverage/content. The interview was a pleasant addition. Thx.

Good effort Mage! Let him mature, he's got more to prove. That #1 horse WOW! Any horse that can run a race, then stop & stand on the buckle is super smart! And Mikie was aboard, hard to beat that combo.

I thought going around the turn he had the momentum and was going to get it but the one just kept on with it. Nonetheless a good showing as usual from Mage.
