You two are so cute! And way braver than me; I would have passed on all of it. Thanks to you both for making me laugh. Good to see you; I think I lost notifications for you.
Dear Renee, I am Mexican and I've seen all the Puerto Vallarta series. Let me say that I've enjoyed every one of them! You have portrayed Puerto Vallarta very accurately and I am thankful for your thoughts and comments. Even the ones that underline the city's problems. This one on Mexican snacks, cracked me up!!! Let me say you are far more adventurous than I thought. Some of those are really spicy... FYI, those hot nuts you ate almost at the end are peanuts coated with a flour paste and baked like that. That's the crunchy taste... They are called cacahuates japoneses... I don't really know why... Thanks, Renee!!!!
LOL so glad you are enjoying the videos!!! I have another one coming out tomorrow about Puerto Vallarta. I absolutely love it there....love love love it there. I didn't want to come home! Ooooo those hot nuts.....I did not like that! And I never would haven guessed flour paste! Thanks for filling me in ❤️
I have to say as I am nursing a broken ankle I enjoyed your video. I must say I was watching Randy more in this with him getting up and down for napkins. His expressions are priceless....I think Randy stole this one from you Renee!!! Enjoyed it of course.
My husband and I went to Puerto Vallarta a couple of years ago and took a cooking class at Gaby’s restaurant - I’ve been making delicious homemade tortillas since then! So delicious!
Me: trying watch what I eat, by avoiding snack foods Me: watch a RU-vid video with people eating snack foods Me: goes to kitchen cupboard to eat snack foods
Hi Renee, your videos aren't coming through, and I'm subscribed, so I don't know what's happening, and I so enjoy your videos,.I hope RU-vid fixes the problem soon.
I really liked this video. I think we all do the local snack tastings but what I enjoyed the most was to see your faces pucker up with the lime churritos and even though it was nearly 30 min. it went so fast! Thanks for the posting. FYI - again, did not get the notification.
@@WelcomeToMyCurls The name at the end 'maiz' that's corn in Spanish. So, yes it would be strange almost like a tortilla/churro ... pass the margaritas!!!
Hi Renee. I am a subscriber to your channel and I activated the bell for notifications. Since the Valentine video I get no longer notifications. I wonder if this is only the case with my subscribtion or if there are more subscribers with this problem. Now I look now and then if you posted a video. Greetings Det (from the Netherlands)
Hi! I post new videos every Tuesday and Friday morning.....however, RU-vid has not been sending out notifications to any of my subscribers since I accessed my account while in Mexico. It's a problem!! I've been working with their support staff to find out WHY this is happening...and no luck so far. But just this morning my case was escalated to a specialist so I'm hoping it's resolved soon. But you can always check my channel on Tuesdays and Fridays for new videos ❤️
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing you and Randy tasting different snacks! The looks on your faces were priceless! Different cultures are so interesting to observe - we all have a lot in common, even if our taste buds are different! :) I'm sorry to say I didn't get a notification for your video, even after I switched the notifications for "personalized" to "all". Come on you tube! - maybe they are taking a siesta! haha; Hope they get it worked out soon.
I can see your husband likes a tidy place or doesn't like a crummy table....lolol. I have the same habit cleaning off my counters, tables, etc. I like how he grabbed your hand so you wouldn't make a huge mess.....too funny!!
A real favorite Mexican food dish that I love is Chicken Mole (moe lay), it is out of this world good! Also a real personal favorite salsa that you can buy at HEB here in Texas is Peach Salsa, love it with tortilla chips!
We have something like that(hot nuts) in Greece were we serve with whisky,oh and thanks for sharing your nice videos, from your wonderful dogs to your lovely family and jouneys, hugs from Greece🌞❤
Hi Rene - Randy was cracking me up! I have done the same thing by trying Mexican snacks. Definitely different! Love Mexico!!! I, too, had trouble finding your videos. Hope its resolved!
Hey!!!! Buenos Dias! Great video! That’s our OXXO! I know they are on almost every corner, but that’s one close to where we stay and we visit it often. Haha! We just got home... and guess what... we made it to Denver before the massive storm descending upon us gets here. Was thinking we might get stuck... lol I Miss the 70 + degree weather and the inexpensive great snacks and restaurants! Thanks again for all your tips and advice. Made it easy! We did visit Joya... you made that (😬) part of our trip a no brainer. Cheetos on the beach with a michilada Cubana! Mmmmmmm. Love you guys!!! Thanks Renee & Randy! ☀️🏖🥰
I see a lot of snacks and sweet things geared to Hispanics at a couple local grocery stores. These days, my finances don't permit trying out such foods for fun so I miss out but conserving money is more important. I do get to enjoy your and other RU-vidr's taste-testing. In much of the world sugar products have historically been expensive and so a far less sweet taste in all sorts of foods and beverages is common and expected. A while back I found Chips Ahoy soft cookies with a brownie center that were SO GOOD. There are red-skinned peanuts--Spanish peanuts....Planters sells them and they are the closest to what a good, natural, jarred peanut butter smells like. Vanilla cake with raspberry jam and coconut are homemade Zingers. Lime paired with a spicy chili pepper powder is very popular in Latin America but too hot for me, stunning my taste buds so I can't taste anything for a while. An FYI....dairy products cool the heat of spicy foods which is commonly done in India. There will always be something with yogurt on the table.
Thanks for letting me know. It's sooo frustrating....and RU-vid isn't helpful. They've done something to channel since I went to Mexico, and I have no idea when they will correct it. I want to scream!
Desserts and baked goods in other countries usually do taste less sweet. Here in the US, they put high-fructose corn syrup in just about everything -- makes things taste much sweeter. Versus other countries which still use natural sugar. Also the Bimbuñuelos remind me of rosettes, which are made with a flower-shaped iron that you dip into batter and deep fry. I remember making them in 7th grade home economics class.
You and your two daughters are blessed to have a man that loves and respects the three of you. Also, how did you both get started going to P.V. for your vacation and which place is better; the condo at the beach where you took Pollux and Maxie or this location?
Hi Renee! Omg I havent had your videos recommended to me in over a month! I've been pretty busy so I didnt notice. Then I was hanging out yesterday and it just dawned on me that I hadn't seen one of your videos for ages! Then I come to your channel and all this fun stuff has been happening! So mad at YT for not recommending your channel to me, im still subscribed and have bell notifications on so I dont know whats going on? So glad to be back and your videos have been great, you really cracked me up when you said you were scared of those jalapeño snacks! 😄 I've been looking at Puerto Vallarta since you did your villa tour video but im not allowed out of Scotland just yet! :( looks super beautiful. Maybe one day i can go :) Hope the pups and everyone are doing well! 💛
What beautiful tans you guys have and fun country to visit! You both needed this and look so relaxed! Can’t wait to do a Vacation and also would eat Any and All the snacks!! 🤣😂🥳 🙋♀️
I watched video twice! I wanna go now! I’ve been to Puerto rico once and loved it but never the Pacific side....will have to contact you whenever we can go🙌😉🥳
I think I'd really like the "sweet" crackers that you liked. Glad you all had a fun trip! Hubby and I go to Cancun every year. We always bring home 2 bags of lime Fritos. I hate regular Fritos but the lime are delish!
Oy someone needs to tell that man to relax - he's cleaning every couple of minutes. Dang. lol Not sure I could take that, but I'm really glad he's got a very patient partner. You all seam to be good for each other. :)
Those Hot Nuts are fried, thus crunchy. Yum, yum! I love those things. Not necessarily the flavor you two had. Much of their products do not use high fructose corn syrup, they actually use pure cane sugar. So too our American palate they tastes less sweet.
I live in California close to the Mexican border. If you liked any of the products you tried I can get you some and send it to you. They have the products in every store down here in el centro ca. I am happy you made this vid. Some of the ones you tried I don't really like
lol Renee for goodness sakes... lol Randy had to sneeze, it's not like he has any control over it... maybe it's all those spicey snack... cheeto dust got up his snozzzzz lol xxx Right what is going on... you two are being really nippy with one another. That's not like you both. Normally your so sweet n loving to one another... must be the heat getting to you both. I get nippy n nasty in the heat, I don't cope well with it. Coming from Scotland I prefer to be cool but not cold. Randy if Renee wants to make a mess with crumbs let her lol clearing up comes later xxx 14.16 Randy's OCD kicks in turning him into waiting staff, cleaning the table. I love me a tidy man, Renee so relaxed, just let's him get on with it, seen it all before lol. I love you guys xxx I'm with you Renee, not a lover of spicy. The peanut has it skin on therefore it is pink xxx... Randy's favourite part... the clean up lol Really really love you guys xxx Thank you for taking the time to do this for us xxx
Fun video but I would have liked for you to look up some of the words like hubby suggested. Nothing wrong with knowing what the language is in a country you visit regularly. It would also be helpful to your viewers.
I like the orange juice best . There was another one but I'll have to go thru it again. I also don't like highly spiced food. Yuk, can't tolerate it. I like a mild curry, however and this good mild especially lemon grass. Love Hungarian saurchraught with a pork caserole. Randy carrying a heavy rucksack 🎒 Perhaps it wasnt
I used to make pork roast sitting on a layer of sauerkraut. I'd season the kraut with dots of butter, a little garlic, black pepper and chicken stock, slow roasting in a covered vessel, with the roast's juices also flavoring it. So good with some kind of dumpling on the side.
"Grandma Muffin". That would be a cute nickname for someone, lol. Maybe for you, Renee--sometime later down the road when one of your daughters marries and has kids.
Perhaps......it just tasted stale. Which I know it wasn't because of the extreme crunch....but it wasn't something I would try again. But I did love the sweet crackers I tasted first. Became addicted and ate almost a package every day until we came home. Guessing that's what attributed to the 5 pounds I gain! LOL
@@WelcomeToMyCurls the crackers you referenced did look like the best to me also. 💞 thank you , it was was funny to see your reactions when you thought it would taste one way , but did not.
You really don't want "fuego." It means "fire." (If Mexicans call it "hot," it's way beyond American's idea of hot.) And don't drink water to wash out hot foods! You should drink either fruit juice (or beer) or chew on a vegetable, like cucumber or celery. Water makes it worse.
OH NO!!! Please...don't eat or drink those in Mexico or at home!! Your health issues should send you far away from those type of snacks!! That being said, so glad you get this R &R time!!
that's mexican junk food, next time go to the market and get some more healthy snacks; totopos, nopal salad, guacamole, pico de gallo, chicharron, queso añejo, and artesanal candies made with amaranto, seeds, chocolate, "burnt" milk, and honey...
