Just a fair warning to anyone buying this kit- I had the same problem as another commenter - the wire harness plug would not fit my existing connector. This, in spite of the fact that the light set I'm replacing was also purchased at HF, about four years ago. So, I would suggest the first thing you do after opening the package is to check the fitting to see if it matches your existing rig. If it doesn't, maybe they will take it back, or you're left with splicing wires together to make things work. This new setup also has ground wires coming out of the lights, which was not the case on the previous package I bought there, so one more hassle to deal with.
@@albertogarcia6348 I verified this before I installed them and it’s not even close. The light is far enough down on the fender that a bump won’t matter and there is 3.5” of space between the screw tip and the tire. After almost two years and thousands of miles, it has not been a problem.
On my Lincoln Town Car my parking lights and license plate light have stopped working so I'm resorting because I'm really poor and very disabled putting some of these on as my parking lights that will always be on my brake lights work but I think I have the name the problem my LCM needs to be replaced and then telling me crazy amount of money thanks for the video it was enjoyable
Still working great. I wrecked one almost right away, but that was my fault. Backed into a tree. Otherwise they are working perfectly still. Thanks for watching.
I am on my way to return these. My 4 Runner is pre-wired with the standard connector, but the connector on this harness does not fit even though it looks almost the same. The Harbor freight harness comes with both sides of the connector, so if your car is not pre-wired, you will be ok. It is a lower quality connector, the metal is thinner and the stabs don’t taper off at the ends to guide themselves into the female part. It sucks to have to make another trip.
I just mounted this kit on my trailer yesterday. Does your state not mandate that you must have a lighted license plate on your trailer? They do here in Texas so I was wondering why you didn't mount a license plate below the left turn light on your trailer.
All we are required on the trailer is to have a plate mounted. Doesn’t have to be lit. I never mount them below the light because thise cheap plastic plate holders always seem to get ripped off at some point. Especially when I am using it for wood hauling. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video. I’m looking forward to seeing the follow up as to how they have held up. I just bought this kit today and plan to install tomorrow here’s hoping they hold up.
“It don’t work” is pretty vague but I will assume none of the lights are working. 1) Check your ground on the trailer. Get a volt meter and verify the white wire has continuity with the trailer frame and with the ground wire at each light. Then check that the pigtail on the car is actually working. You can buy a tester for this on Amazon. Good luck and thanks for watching.
I bought led lights for my trailer. I hook them up just as shown here. I have break lights and turn signals but at night when my headlight are on these trailer light are not lit up. Only if I press the brake or turn on the signal? I'm confused as hell.
