Kenwood has changed tremendous ly in the last three years . No constant police patrolling like years before.they have Saturday schools and many fortune companies have invested over one million dollars for scholarships. If you are desiring to attend there you cannot have any d' averages anymore. That's saying something to me.
I Loved This Video!! and Everyone Is Having So Much Fun. 2:22 WOW!!!. Great Dancers In The Vid. Go Mascot!!. LOL A Special Shout Out To 1:36 The Squirrel....:O)
New and improved!! This video contains new footage that was not in the original video. Also, the credits were amended to include the individuals who were important in the production of this video. I'M SO HAPPY!!
Great video!!!!!!! It's always amazing to see the youth doing something fun and positive great job you've given me hope that this generation still has a chance to do something great!!!!!
I am a Kenwood alum, because of the cliques that were formed 95-99, I wasn't very happy there. I was ridiculed for being fat, for being passionate about school and I was called a hoe literally every day I walked in. I had a tight group of friends who made school bearable for me. This video took me back to the good times I had there and I wept happy tears. Thank you to the director, the camera man, and the star Bronco. You all did a great job. I am posting this to my fathers wall who is a director himself. Thank you so much for making this.
Thank you soo much i am sorry you went through that in high school. Noone should have to but we don't do that at Kenwood Academy now. I am glad to have made you HAPPY :)
I am so proud of these thinkers, young adults, creators, visionaries... Such a powerful message to our youth. Lets change the culture in Chicago schools by pushing for greatness! love it!!
This brought me to tears (which isn't so hard to do, these days). You guys captured the "meaning of life" in this video...it's bursting out of your hearts. If you can remember to always keep that feeling as a daily goal and know that no one else can ever give that feeling to you, besides you, you will always be HAPPY. I know this because I discovered it myself as a Senior at Kenwood in 1984.
Kenwood Academy you did a great job...my daughter, graudated from this school over 15 years ago; and my niece graduated from this school over 19 years ago.
So proud of my alma mater! Having spent 6 years at KAHS, it's good to see that not much has changed... except the Macs and I don't remember us having a mascot. C/O '93!!!
Thought I'd share my high school alma mater's, version of Pharrell Williams "Happy". It was fun watching the kids dancing down the halls where we once were.
whoever reads this message if you are reading this message it's Ben 2 years since I've been at Kenwood Academy if you want to go to a High School I would recommend this High School because everybody is up and I have a motivation for all students on the best teachers ever seen at Kenwood Academy is Miss Adams she was loyal faithful trustworthy and cool now she is the assistant principal at Team Englewood High School I miss her a lot but I talk to her they have many great teachers at that high school and a great principal i will recommend this high school
Mark Andrews actually, you're right. That was nearly 30 years ago. Back then, Kenwood was a fantastic school with amazing students and qualified teachers. The campus was clean and very safe. Flash forward... the cops are at Kenwood nearly every other week. Allowing children outside of Hyde Park to attend Kenwood, was a horrible mistake.
I am, so "Happy" to see something positive from, our young people and I am, along with your parents are very proud, of you guys. Keep up the good work and always remain as "Happy" as you are, today.
Karen Calloway, you have always been such a joy at Kenwood. Sydnee graduated in '09, and I am so glad she had the pleasure of being under your thumb. This video is awesome...our kids are talented, smart, beautiful, and uplifting! Couldn't ask for better. I keep playing this video because it lets me remember all the joy and great memories this school has placed in my daughter's and my heart. Great school, in a great community!
Great job guys, to bad the Chicago News Report didn't see it that way. It always great to see something positive coming from our youth especially when my son is involved in something great and HAPPY. Keith Paul Moore
OMG I LOVE IT! My favorite parts (no particular order)... random squirrel where the mascot almost falls on the ice security guards dancing Happy Choir and the wave with Dr. Wyatt at the end
I have watched this at least 20 times!! Each time it makes me smile and brings tears to my eyes- it is so sweet!! You are all amazing- have touched so many with your exuberance!!
