Im thinking about getting one of these (hence why I am watching your video) is it mostly eye candy or does it have a real function for the everyday listener?
eye candy is a good way to put it... it does nothing for the sound of your system... in fact my purist friends would say that because it adds to the length of the signal path it could be detrimental...when you add another component in, there is more chance for poor connection and noise... but it does look very cool...
@@wilmerberry thank you....i belong to a vintage audio group and one time I post a picture of my system and I got blasted from all of the purist because they noticed I had the "loudness" turned on....go figure...thanks again for the reply.
@@TheMidnightKings im totally a tone guy... i love tweaking the sound... in fact i love the vintage amps, say like a Marantz, or a Sansui... that have midrange tone control... i have a friend who is an acoustician...he designs theater rooms and symphony halls... he tells me that the point of tone control or an EQ is to adjust the system to the room it is in in order to get it to sound as close to what the artist intended... so most rooms that a system is set up in will not be acoustically treated so therefore will need some adjusting... and besides, i like to play with it as well... fuck the purist
