I have the Kenwood KA89, a 100 watt per channel integrated amp from the same era of Kenwood. They were still making high quality geat then, with beefy power supplies and discrete power transistors that were mounted to massive heat sinks. It sounds as good as any amp I've ever owned, and I got if for $60 on Ebay. I think that maybe their later gear started to slip in quality, but these units from the 80s were just as good as their classic stuff from the 70s. I always loved the big bold Kenwood sound, and I thought they were a cut above the gear from Pioneer, Sony, and many others at the same price points. Luxman was the only one that compared to Kenwood, IMO
