James anyone who has worked on any vehicle or equipment has done some stupid shit!. Also it's not the wrong way as long as it works. Just keep doing what your doing.

No James your not the only one to put the seal in before the bearing, i have done twice in the same day ,lol.

Well James , you won’t be the first or the last to install a seal before the bearing ! I did it yesterday on a Kubota zero turn mower and ruined the seal too ! I figured I was the only one but now I feel like I’m not alone !! 😂! Awesome video man , we lean something from every video that you do . Keep it up man ! Awesome stuff!👍🇺🇸🇨🇦😂

We've all done it at one time or another, & prolly do it again. Trying & getting it done is what matters, I'm OCD, ADD, ADHD & ALL The ABCs & 123s of the Alphabet clan, & it drives me crazy sometimes but in the end it helps get things done with extra attention to detail, but drives us crazy when there's a screw up, But that's how it goes sometimes. Keep up the good work man, love watching you & what you do !

I hear the "analysis paralysis" setting in on that rear end. when im not sure what to do, i dont do anything. there is always plenty of other things i am certain of what i want to do. i hear the financial frustration as well. trucks are not for the faint at heart or the thin wallet. your the only guy that forgot the bearing in this video today....anyone that says they havnt done that, hasnt worked on enough trucks to comment. use to set my bearings a little tighter too, them i realized that as they heat up, they expand and get tighter on their own. so it needs the room to expand.

Got to keep marla ...definitely an iconic truck that's for sure...would look smart with a 1980s reefer on the back..

What's keeping you from upgrading those rears to Hub Pilot? Doing the brakes as you do is the same way I have been seeing it done my whole life. Never heard of a chain method. Your doing fine brother, and don't worry about the motivation, some days are just days you loose interest but when you start working anyhow, it comes back.

Yep, I did not watch you pull that axle out. Just like I did not watch you change the brake chambers, bushings, seals, bearings, etc. Oh, wait, guess I actually did watch everything. Looked like quite a job too, but a job well done.

The ole flaming wrench is the quickest way to get them off...

You should not use anti seize on stud pilot style lug nuts it can cause the nuts to loosen due to the graphite wearing the threads out. Should be mounted dry.

your stemco seal dealer should give you a seal installer tool for free, or you can call them and get a set, they give them away, those brakes were q plus that you pulled off, hopefully you bought the new q plus scams, i would find it hard to fathom that old truck had plus scams in it, once you install the lock nut on the axle is when you check the clearance on the bearings, depending on the thread wear it can force the inner nut inward, so you put on regular q shoes on, four rivets in the corners, q plus has three rivets in the corners, if you anti seeze the saddles you wont get brake squealing, where the rollers and pins meet the shoe table , on the table only not across the rollers, order you a air scraper for axle gaskets you will not regret it,

Use the cut off from your parts truck for that cabover. Rails should be same size

You do the brakes the same way I do and yes I have put the seal in with out the bearing before several times the truck I would be interested in owning you probably won't sale

How do you come up with a value on cabover. Was looking at one been sitting over 10 to 15 years. Told me 50k but I was thinking around a lower number
