Just imagine how many hours you did complete this well done job , thanks for this very informative video working with front suspension, you did it all wonderful job,
Seeing this video brings back so many memories of when I was a Diesel Mechanic..I did so many King Pin replacements..And Front and Rear leaf Springs...
This is one thing I don’t dare do on my trucks. I never work on the front end. I’m just to scared I might make a mistake that can cause the whole thing to come apart while driving 😂 I rather pay someone like this guy who makes it look ridiculously easy. But that’s because he does it all day for years. Remember. All the great masters of their trade make the job look easy. That’s what makes them masters of a trade.
Just a few hours ago the dry van in front of me lost his back duals on the interstate going east just past Lincoln ne . Creepy I just posted about that fear.
The day your not scared is the day it go's wrong i just did king pins on 75 w900a 2 mouth ago it trun out great I've learned doing all machines save me shop time and time lost too give it a try you'll do fine remember RU-vid always got video it you get stump hope to see a video of you trying this
Very educational. This video helps me appreciate even more the knowledge of a mechanic and the time it takes for this type of repair. Thanks for sharing.
I have seen k w being made great thing to watch as is your work , a craftsman knowledge and the right tools for the job the industry need another’s 1000 plus of you please keep sharing it will encourage people to the trades
Great video. However, I don't think I've ever seen a king pin job go that smoothly. That truck has obviously never seen a salty winter road in its life. hahahahaha !
I never saw a new kingpin going like this through those new metal bushings. I used to do this operation hundreds of times back there in Europe, but a new kingpin was not fitting through new bushings and I always had to mill those bushings on a CNC milling machine. When a kingpin was going through like this through new bushings i had to go with thicker bushings and mill them on a CNC.
You know that thing ain’t moving sticking that iron bar and checking for play . That guys awesome . He did a terrific job I’d pay him any day to fix my shit. Good work boss
Excelente trabajo.... gracias por este edificante video...me ayudará mucho .... que destreza de trabajador. Felicidades por esas habilidades Desde Texas
Good video. Done many a king pins on I'd say every manufacturer and yes never seen em come out that nice by the time they were needing replaced. My only issue with this video is the only tool I didn't see is a torque wrench. Was kinda shocked seeing the skill level the mechanic possessed and didn't see one. His knowledge on the process tells me he should know better. Solid video all the same.
Just cause u didnt see it doesn't mean he didn't, I didnt see ubolts tighten, measure front hanger to unbolts to ensure square axle. I saw skill and care otherwise. I judge on what I see, not what I dont!
How often should you replace Kingpins? And if its allot of miles would it be best to replace tierods spring bushings check spildles, races and Bearings for galling. Just rebuild the whole frontend. With new steer tires, brakes and shocks. Indexing the steering wheel to dead center. Then do a 3 axle alignment?
I don’t think there is a certain mileage that you replace your king pins at. We always just check them jacking up the front end, putting a pry bar under one of the front tires and then stepping on the pry bar to see if there is any up and down play in the tire. If there is a considerable amount then you need to replace them.
