Over 70 people died in Mai Mahiu when a giant railway underpass tunnel broke. The water swept down on hills and valleys from uphill in Kijabe to downhill in Mai Mahiu. Survivors of the Mai Mahiu disaster share their horrific survival stories. Many have lost their loved ones and property that will probably never be recovered. Unaccounted number of people are still buried under, or their bodies were swept downstream.
