At 0:37 the white guy (Jason Spindler)at the lower left and the upper right, shown twice (the only United States citizen who died in the attack) was married to my daughter for a few years so they can both stay together while in the Peace Corp. He was an amazing guy who was helping Kenyans start and internationalize their local economy. He just took a short break and went to the restaurant where he was killed at the start of the attack, one week before his 41st birthday. His parents had tickets to come see him to celebrate and, instead, had to come to prepare his funeral.

I survived this and all because the 4 gunmen chose to go to 1 building. They must not have known of the existence of that Dusit entrance via Belgravia Building which is also not marked on the map. We literally walked out thinking it was a fire alarm and came face to face with those 4 in black, yet none followed us. They didn't even see a whole group of over 30 people that was exiting a building and ran back. That video where they walk into the compound still sends shiver up my spine.

Go watch the amazing interview on the Project-Archangel RU-vid channel with Dan Prastalo, a Slovenian expat ex military in Kenya providing security services who responded to the scan and linked up with Chris Craighead and a small number of others who intervened. The police and security response overall, with a few exceptions was a distaster and in some cases they were complete cowards. Dan has hours and hours of bodycam footage including audio and video of the piss poor police response of the incident that some day will come out. Dan fills in a lot of holes but reserves a lot of detail saying he wants that to come when Chris - who he properly credited with doing 80-90 % of the job - is hopefully someday allowed to publish his story.
