Welcome to my first ever station bug video. These are meant to give a small snippet of what old airings looked like; I'm sure people have done these types of videos before, but CDCB2 was the one who introduced me to them.
This is of one of the absolute earliest KERA station bugs, maybe even their first one (keep in mind, my Arthur recording from 1997 has no station bug at all). It's the earliest one I remember seeing, anyway. Bear in mind, for a while most PBS stations used the same bug for both kid and adult programming, so this is the same bug you'd see during a PTV/The Game block. In fact, I don't think KERA made a special bug for PBS Kids programming until about 2002 or so, when they made the rainbow version of their logo.
This is from my Triumph of the Nerds recording, a documentary made in 1996 about how the personal computer went from being a niche hobby to a multi-million dollar industry. If you like computers at all and are interested in their history, I implore you to give it a watch if you can, it's really good. It's a bit dated, and it's nothing super high budget, but it's still a really neat look into how it all blossomed and they even got some big names to appear such as Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. Sadly the full uncut PBS version is very hard to find, as all commercial releases slice off a half hour from the show, which is lame.
