One would imagine that the business with the Wagner group going renegade would have shaken Putin and he will be keeping close tabs on those around him. What we probably will see is Russia becoming more and more insular as the nation becomes poorer once the cost of the war and sanctions start to topple the economy. Ukraine has been surviving on international aid, but that's not a lifeline available to Russia. Neither is an IMF loan like non sanctioned nations would have available. Even Chinese financial institutions are turning their back on Russia because it makes doing business with the West tricky and because nobody wants Rubles.

There is no connection between controlling Crimea and the Donbas. Its not even clear if Ukraine has the manpower to mount an invasion of Crimea.
