This movie was made when Sony owned the rights to the muppets.

Basically this was during that period when Sony owned the rights to the Muppets and yeah it was an ugly sight. Thank God Disney bought back the rights.

I think may come in the future, 2019 came and went and I heard nothing about it.

too bad Jim Varney passed away before this was made, he would've been perfect as the red truck guy probably would've added some charm to it

It definitely would've fit him well as a celebrity cameos too.

Honestly Quentin Tarantino's scene in The Muppets' Wizard of Oz is the best scene in the whole film. And also the funniest scene. I haven't even seen it, but I've heard it sucks.

It is a very disappointingly made movie, but it can be given credit where credit is due - at least it had Quentin Tarantino and Miss Piggy is surprisingly effective and hilariously over-the-top as The Wicked Witch of the West!

The witch is in the house is actually not a bad song either but other than that and Quentin the movie is boring and forgettable

I find that Pilgrim should be an influential choice for Live-Action "Talking Dog" movies, since Pilgrim's puppetry looks much better than CGI making the dogs' mouths move up and down.

For sure. I forgot what I said during this video but I wholeheartedly agree. The puppet actually doesn't look too different from the actual dog which I would expect from the Jim Henson company. This review also has not aged well for me so yeah lol

I saw a review on IMDb talking about how this movie needed a different director since its subject matter was something important. I mean, the ORIGINS of KERMIT??? I think you’d need someone who’s worked on more serious films than David Gumpel. Don’t get me wrong, I love his direction on kids films, but this movie needed more serious attention during production since, you know, it’s CANON.

I mean yeah this is kind of a big deal. Trust me, I didn't even say half as much as I really wanted to because I didn't want to take up so much time but that was the old me. This movie was so cheaply made they had to reuse the Kermit puppet to play his mom and I couldn't even show the grown up versions of Kermit's friends in the end
@brockpifer9929
@brockpifer9929 Год назад
Yeah. Even though David’s been with the Muppets and Henson since the 80s. He directed on Dog City, The Wubbulous World of Dr Seuss, the pilot video for Bear In The Big Blue House and later on Sid The Science Kid. So maybe he wasn’t the best choice inside the Henson crew to direct this movie in that case. They could’ve gotten Kirk Thatcher, maybe even Brian Henson or one of the Sesame Street directors, idk

Is it me or does Kermit’s head look weird in this movie cuz he’s suppose to be young here? Plus you can see his actual puppet as his mom, just with eyelashes.
@StefanSaba
@StefanSaba 4 года назад
Yo dude thank you for pointing that out. The movie is so cheap that they just reused the puppet for his mom. And yeah he looks almost diamond headed as a kid lol

I’m surprised I’m one of the few that noticed and at least I’m not the only one who noticed his weird head on the movie (it doesn’t bug me too much tho) I remember this movie when I was little and saw it at my boyfriend’s house, he had the dvd of it and looking back now, I’m just like “Why?! What were we thinking of laughing at this?!” Especially that while butt thing with Goggles, why did we laugh at that? Other than the answer being we were dumb kids. Funny thing after that said butt scene, my boyfriend copied that scene and showed his butt right at his mom, needless to say she wasn’t happy her son would do that.

i think i did notice that, i think i just miss the practical effects a lot lol
@jf4132
@jf4132 5 лет назад
@@StefanSaba I can't blame you for thinking that, because I did see recent releases where some of the practical effects were changed to CGI. James Rolfe, better known as the Angry Video Game Nerd, did a video asking if a CGI special edition got released into theatres as he mentioned this pink douchebag that Rei was getting money from was a guy in a costume, but when he re-watched the film in theatres the character was CGI.
