I’ve been listening to KKB ever since I started HIgh School, and now it’s almost over. I’m at a crossroads and I’m becoming a new person and KKB is changing too. Pretty sweet.
TubbsTheCat Some advice you don't typically hear much of in high school: for the love of god don't go to a college that's going to put you into debt unless you know exactly what you want to do with your life. If not, just suck up your pride and go to whatever community college is near you for the first two years then transfer when you have a better grasp on what you want to do Don't go 30k into debt to attend some college that's basically just 4 years of sleep-away camp for adults
This community is amazing and I'm happy to be apart of it. I just love the fact that even though they changed their image and sound completely there is still so much positivity in these comments. I love where you guys are headed and I will support you fully thanks for creating such amazing sounds
Probably experimentation, trying out new sounds and see what will fit them well. Cause if they keep releasing the same light hearted bubblegum electropop, they'll get stale
[way late reply] it is a key change! the verses are in A flat minor and the chorus is in D major. the transition between the two is totally seamless tho (props to kkb ofc)
@Hugo Lemonnier after 2 years, I have found the one true path, everyone. I make tapestries featuring characters created by Connan Mockasin. I still do not know what a keychange is.
The bass chord progression at the start is SOOOOOOOOOOOO Depeche Mode it's untrue. In fact the whole minor key wonder could easily pass for one of the Basildon stadium synth rockers' finest circa 1995-1998.... Clever Clever Bonito. Fucking Love it!
[Verse 1] I don’t always stay right on the track But somehow I know that I’ll come back See, I haven’t lost sight before Through woods where cicadas scream Then along a glistening stream ’Til I find the open sea Lying right there for me [Verse 2] Well, I’m not the only person looking for a clue I see by the footprints in the sand that you are too So maybe together we can find a path that’s really true [Verse 3] And civilization marches on Occasionally prone to get it wrong Though it might seem we’re lost We never sit down too long And if in the distance you see me Just know this is how it’s meant to be Now I have got this far I believe in the one true path
I'm on my year abroad right now. I didn't go to university when I left college, for a whole bunch of reasons, some of which are linked to an unhealthy relationship I was in around that time. I finally went to university after it ended. And, as I said at the beginning, I'm now living abroad for a year. Right in the middle of it in fact. The lyrics of this song in conjunction with this bleached image of what is immediately recognisable as being the UK is really intense for me. I first heard of KKB around the time of Hyper Japan in 2014 I think, when they performed. I had a chat with Gus afterwards about Perfume. I was still in that relationship then. And it's amazing to see KKB come so far since then, in that I talk to my friends and most of them have heard of them, but then I need to remind myself that I have come a long way too, and this song does that. Thank you, KKB.
I return to this EP every so often and realize how important it is to me. It just hits this bittersweet feeling I can't describe. Seriously such amazing music ♥
This song has gotten me through the last few years and its finally starting to feel like the wheels of civilization aren't entirely off the car anymore. It has definitely felt recently like we've been totally lost, but I hope we don't sit down too long. I'll believe with you
(my best attempt at lyrics, forgive me i'm american) i don't always stay right on the track, but somehow i know that I'll come back, see i haven't lost sight before through woods where cicadas scream, then along a glistening stream, til i find the open sea, lying right there for me well im not the only person looking for a clue, i see by the footprints in the sand that you are too, so maybe together we can find a path that's really true as civilization marches on, occasionally prone to get it wrong, though it might seem we're lost, we never sit down too long and if in the distance you see me, just though this is how its meant to be, now i have gone this far, i believe in the one true path
d0lvl0 I think it's "open sea" rather than open seat - there isn't a glottal stop I can hear at the end of the word "sea" to make it "seat", and it makes more sense with the "footprints in the sand"
I cannot wait to see how the rest of the year turns out we are only 2 months in and already 4 new songs from kkb truly a blessing I have high hopes for 2018
This is artistically so brilliant. The key changes, the way this song is sooooo minor, the vocallllsssss. It's so friking good. This song is not going to be for everyone but it's honestly soooo smart. I love this guys. The path you're going into is so nice. DEVIATE.
ASHERUISE Either way I enjoy when musicians don't try to appeal to their audience and just try to be themself. Seems like that's what KKB is doing now.
ASHERUISE yeah Im with you. Im slightly worried theyre giving up their old style because I loved and listened to them for that cutesy energetic style of music.
the way this song is composed is so interesting tying the different melodic motifs to different chord progressions throughout the song what a calm banger
I went to see anamanaguchi and you were the support, that was a few years ago and I’ve seen how much you’ve grown. So glad that I discovered you through them, this song is defo my fave from the album ❤️ Can’t wait to see you again in September ❤️
I don’t always stay right on the track But somehow I know that I’ll come back See, I haven’t lost sight before Through words, words I cannot scream Than along a glistening stream ’Til I find the open sea Lying right there for me Well, I’m not the only person looking for a clue I see by the footprints in the sand that you are too So maybe together we can find a path that’s really true And civilization marches on Occasionally prone to get it wrong Though it might seem we’re lost We never sit down too long And off in the distance you see me Just know this is how it’s meant to be Now I have got this far I believe in the one true path
