Brilliant from kerry but dublin didnt perform really. The same the previous year against tyrone. But fair play to kerry they really stepped it up in this game. Dublin just didnt ezpect it
Michael O'Connell rubbish. If Dublin were just a "confidence team" there is no way they would have been capable of battling through and overcoming Kerry and Mayo in 2013. Give Donegal some credit too although Dublin simply had an off day also. Happens.
This embarrassment, along with the one vs Meath the following year, really spurred on the Dubs to get their act together and start realising their potential. The rest is history as they say. COYBIB!
see .. i agree with you. Dublin learned that day... obviously.. i am a Kerryman... i maintain that defeat spurred them on...that year against Donegal.. used wrong tactcs and went for goals too early... but they died with their boots on... went on to win 6 in a row. Football will never see a team as good as this Dublin side
Who would have thought when the final whistle went on this game that 10 years later Stephen Cluxton would be about to get his 7th all ireland medal haha
Kerry doing a full mini-training session before the throw-in and Dublin doing a huddle, that was in Pat Gilroy's words the "startled earwigs" attitude in Dublin football at that time. He knew what had to be done after that annihilation.
kerry did a demolition job... that game made dublin.....conolly, brogan... apart from Donegal 2014..andthe dubs madearght go of it.... the best team n the island for the last 9 years... we just have to take them on ....
