I know how much Kesha has grown since this song came out. She is so strong and unbelievably brave. That being said, I wish women would stop being used as synonym for worth less.
@Rose :3 I definetely disagree, she was opposite of high school girls,I think she was very unique and still is,she went through much. Also she was very popular and had her own style. She is one of the artists I can back to listen her old bops, something about her songs is different and has that party and happy vibes.
Kesha was my childhood. A childhood I never want to forget. Playing Minecraft with my brothers on late summer nights Blasting 2010 music on the radio while it was raining, speeding down the highway with my parents Bragging about my Pokémon card collection MW3 with my brothers on a school night And most importantly Making childhood memories watching TV with my siblings. I wish those days could come back
My first memory was watching a show on a tablet or ipad or something on a white couch with my little sister next to me, we were small enough that we could do it vertically and have a pretty good amount of space
As a trans person, I can tell y'all this is NOT transphobic, it's not even abt trans ppl lmao Edit as of Feb 2024: to the people saying that no one cares, no one asked, no shit, etc., this comment was made like 2 years ago at this point when people WERE saying it, of course it's not really relevant now
I mean yeah, out of context the chorus sounds kinda iffy (not intentional iffy, just sucks to hear "I don't wanna date a dude with a vag") but the context makes it clearly not transphobic, if anything it's something you could throw at a dude who doesn't protect his trans gf
Tbh, I've never been early to a song before. Edit: To all the bots who think I'm thinking this song is new, I'm talking about it being uploaded on youtube
@@melikfratcicek She just got out of court! -WTF?? You think she can just make videos and songs again?? -It's not that easy when you're stuck in a contract.
Hi comment section! Trans man here, this song is NOT transphobic, Kesha is a lqbtq+ ally and this song doesn't show any hate towards us. So please stop spreading lies and hate (: Love you all. Bye~
@@hahabearseathoney unintentional bigotry doesn't exist, fucko. If someone is being bigoted, it's always intentional, otherwise it's not bigoted. This song isn't transphobic, nor is it sexist. She's making a point that she doesn't want some weak-willed man-child who complains about everything. There's nothing transphobic or sexist with having a preference in your partner. I wouldn't date a man because I'm not gay, but that doesn't make me homophobic.
Ya'll really reaching in the comment section. The whole point of the song is she doesn't want to be with a man that's going to complain about every little thing. As a woman myself, I can totally agree that a lot of woman are annoying like this and since her preference is men, she doesn't want to be with a man like that. Growing a pear just means grow up, act better, be brave. Ya'll are literally talking about a woman who was one of the first major figures in feminism, LGBT ally, and just embracing differences. Some of ya'll are only trying to find things wrong with it.
@@aoibhie1208 but her ex was really bitchy, it's not that they're not allowed to feel emotions, it's fine, but her ex fit into the spoiled girl category. geez
@@aoibhie1208 It’s not about men having emotions. Kesha’s telling the dude to grow up, be more mature, be an adult, not telling him that he isn’t allowed to feel
nah listen i hate men (half joking) but even I KNOW that this song is totally hating on men. the entire thing is about how hes "too sensitive" and complains and "acts like a chick". men who are in touch with their emotions, are sensitive, or kind often get a bad wrap. And get called shit gay, pussies, or girls. Which goes into a whole new thing about anything emotional-related always comes back to women and their periods. Everyone always wants to hate on something.
@@asexualicon1006 not just for being emotional and crying This song was based on one of her real life relationships where the man was whiny and bitchy and childish
@@charaprice5317 it's not hating on men it's hating on this specific man Not for being emotional, for being whiny Does it suck that Ke$ha used calling him a girl to signify he's whiny? Yeah, that's the fucked up part
I've listened to her for a very, very long time. HOW have I not heard this yet? I bought Animals and it came with bonus songs. Maybe the song didn't come out until later idk. But I've always and will always love Kesha. ❤
Guys the song isnt transphobic, I just dont think the lyrics aged to well💀💀 but you guys need to chill. Just because there are trans people that feel uncomfy with the lyrics doesn't mean anyone is trying to "cancel" anything, you guys are so quick to call people sensitive when they speak how they feel.
I'm a trans man and I fucking love this song. I have more issues with the misogyny, but I'm pretty sure it's meant to be ironic. I love the whole "but I just can't date a dude with a vag". Weirdly enough it's validating?
The lyrics aged perfectly. The swing is happening. The effeminate men and trans gender nonsense is going to fade a way and real men will appear. Society will finally grow a pair and this lgbqrtP will be forgotten.
as a kid whos born in 1997 this song was fine in 2011 now all the 12 year olds that think theyre bi are trying to cancel one of the most socially woke artists ever
Many people are calling the song sexist and transphobic. I think what they lack is context: the song is about kesha dating a guy with a sexist fragile masculinity and basically an asshole. So to insult him, she uses what hurts him the most, sexist and fragile masculinity insults (“you seem to have a vagina”, “you act like a girl”, “you don't stop crying”, “when you grow a pair you can call me back” etc. ) to emphasize how idiotic it is for being that way.
@@nothingnoone675 Dude, the only person offended here is you. Stop looking for transphobia or sexism to cry about. She wasn't talking about trans people or being sexist; the song is just about roasting a guy who acts toxic. No need to take everything serious.
@@nothingnoone675 dude this generation is so mfin soft it’s clearly about a girl not liking her bf because he acts like a whiney bitch. Or because he’s too soft lmao it isn’t transphobic you just like to jump into conclusions so calm down.
This is not transphobic, as many of the (trans!) commenters in this comment section have already pointed out. It’s about her relationship with a cis-hetero man who’s acting whiny and immature, and she’s telling him to stop being a p*ssy and grow some b*lls. Not everything has to be about trans people, and this song has nothing to do with them. And even if she DID mean the “dude with a vag” line literally (I’m pretty sure we can all agree it’s metaphorical though) she’s allowed to have her preference. She’s allowed to be attracted to penises instead of vaginas. I’m pretty sure she supports the LGBT+ community, but just because you support someone doesn’t mean you owe them sexual attraction. You can be supportive of trans people’s rights without necessarily being attracted to trans people-you don’t owe anyone sex or attraction in order to validate them. It’s totally okay to validate someone with platonic support, with no sexual element involved.
i agree that this song isnt transphobic bc its not about a trans ppl but if it was then it kinda would be 🤨just bc some doesnt want to date a trans person it doesn't mean that they can go around saying "ew I would never date a trans person"
for the longest time i thought she said "when you grow a pear, you can call me back, yeah you think you're hot but really you're not " until i re listened😅
