I never would have thought that I would be watching a video showing the repair of circuit boards lol. Your narration/explanation of what your doing really does make this interesting. I almost wish I had a broken light to send you😁
Hi wondering about black box LEDs. I took in several old ones and ordered in replacement diodes and lens. I replaced the diodes in two and cleaned up the boxes. Problem was after I did all this was the power supplies were also broken. I looked for replacements but was not able to find anything suitable or cost effective. It seemed that buying a new light was cheaper then fixing these old lights. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks in advance John in Halifax, Nova Scotia
AliExpress may have those power supplies available at a reasonable price. But generally speaking, I agree that replacing too many components on those black boxes is not going to be cost effective. I repaired a fair number of black box lights, but all of them had issues with LEDs and bypass diodes, which are fairly inexpensive as parts.
Excellent video! What temperature do you run your hot air gun at when removing and replacing the components? I'm always worried I have mine too hot or too cold!
