What are your thoughts on the oral ketamine prescribed by companies like Mind Bloom? Would love to hear your opinion.

Thanks for asking! The bioavailability of oral ketamine is only about 20%, but it does appear to have a scientific benefit.

I lost my 17 year old son 4 1/2 years ago..I am still struggling with gaining weight and having an appetite. Someone suggested ketamine…do you have any other thoughts?

I feel your pain. I have often thought about what would happen if this happened to me. The whole thing is just so unacceptable. How does one survive such a blow? I do know talking with people who have been through it always helps, at least at first. Realizing you are not alone on your particular journey is critical to healing. The weight is a symptom of your broken heart. You may have been disappointed to realize that time heals, but only so much... After two years or so, the rest is up to you. which is scary but that's ok, it has to be that way. Love is scary. Love lost unfairly is terrifying. You loved your son, and perhaps you are afraid to disrespect him by moving on. But think about what he would want for you? He doesn't want you to forget him or stop loving him. He wants you to heal and to love everyone again. Believe me, he wants you to live and love again so very much. He wants you to be happy. You owe him that. Love is a muscle; it must be flexed. So this is your answer, go get a puppy, that is all yours and only yours, and love that thing, and when it gets old and dies in 10-15 years, let it go... let it go. If you have already done this, then do it again. You will slowly understand that love is universal, it's giving, it's always there. And you can have as much as you want if you just give it to others. Give, receive, feel, belong, and your hunger will return. It is so hard to do but the more you do it the stronger you will become, particularly when you realize love belongs to all of us. Blessings and love to you as you continue trying to heal. We are right here with you.

I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. Grieving the loss of a child is incredibly challenging and can affect many aspects of your health, including appetite and weight. While some people have found relief through ketamine therapy, it's essential to consult with your healthcare provider to determine if this option is suitable for you. Exploring other therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or mindfulness practices, might help address both your emotional and physical well-being. Take care of yourself and know that it's okay to seek help and support during this difficult time. 💔

@@TungB you have no idea how much this response means to me. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond as you did. This has been coming up for me in the last month, being able to fully love again…so this spoke to me SO much, I bawled when I first read it. I don’t know who you are but this was exactly what I needed to hear…thank you and may you be blessed! 💕

By chance, were you on SSRIs or SNRIs when you tried psilocybin? I know that they can take the magic out of magic mushrooms lol. I appreciate you sharing your story!

It's always important to be mindful of medication interactions when exploring treatments like psilocybin, and consulting with a healthcare professional can help ensure safety and effectiveness.
