This is my hometown! There's plenty to do; there's a lot of local arts activity, people follow the local sports teams, outdoor activities for sure, etc. I think the town being small means you get to know the community really well. Also, in Ketchikan, we generally avoid the downtown area during tourist season. If you get out of the small downtown, there's a lot more going on. Not quite as picturesque but more of the daily living things. Also, living here and waking up to the beautiful view everyday is amazing.

Alaskan here, I live in Juneau but all of southeast is fairly similar. It does get boring, it's amazing but you can get used to anything even Alaska and take it for granted. Once you have hiked all the trails and lets be real all the glaciers look a like it is just the place you live. Watching you video's is great because it reminds me how special a place I live in, so thank you! You got to have a hobby, I have become a very good cook living here and I can't imagen living here without the internet! My husband and myself are gamers so that is where a lot of our free time goes. We vacation as often as possible, it is very common that we travel out of state not only for vacation but for medical treatment. Alaska is a tough place to live, some communities more than others but you can make a really good living here. I am glad you had some good weather! Keep up the great videos.

I live in Canada not Alaska but it's a small area like that and we go camping, walking to the most beautiful views. Bike riding, in winter we play in the snow, build a snowman, sled, and snow shoe. You wouldn't believe all the activities we do. A lot of amazing bakers in my family cause they got bored.

I’m loving this series! The Tiana’s Place dinner looks like so much fun. We need Tiana’s Place in the parks.

I also used to greet the cruise ships on the docks when I was 12, volunteer work for the Ketchikan visitors center.

I lived in a small northern Canadian town, and many of my old classmates spent their teen years drinking in the bush. The isolation and lack of resources, work, and things to do make it very difficult for people to keep on the straight and narrow. I like to hope it's a little better now with high-speed internet and Amazon making resources a bit more accessible, but it's definitely an issue. Also, seeing the Moose Lodge was a moment of nostalgia, because many northern communities have/had a Moose Lodge! We had a lot of events held at the Moose when I was a kid. Watching your videos has really made me appreciate my childhood because a lot of what you've been showing is very normal for me, while your normal theme park videos are the moments where I watch with amazement because I've not been able to experience those things often. Thanks for the excellent content!

My husband is from Kenai Alaska and we now live in the "Big D". He misses Alaska sooooo much. Said there is just no other place like it. We have been married 20 years but because I am afraid of flying I have never been there. Thanks for these videos. They make him so happy 😁😁😁

We loved Ketchikan when we visited. Watching your video brought back lovely memories. We did the rainforest hike. Not only were there a ton of bald eagles, but 2 black bears crossed our path as well. So, if you want to see bears, go hiking.

You were SO lucky! It’s actually a rainforest and they have rain most days. When we went, it did rain all day for us, but we went zip lining and it was AMAZING! I’ve been zip lining in a lot of places and Ketchikan is still my favorite.

Hey man, I love your cruise videos! I think it would be fun to see you guys explore some other lines. I've been on Holland America, Princess, and Carnival (x2 ships) and they're all so great in their own ways. I'd love to see you and Koda on the bigger ships in the Carnival or RCL fleet! With that said, your cruise vlogs are great and I really enjoy them, good work!

The next time you go to Ketchikan, don’t miss Creek Street! It’s so cool to walk around and they have some beautiful local artist shops where you can find one of kind treasures. We agree with you about the lumberjack show. Once is enough! Fun but not something I would do every time. I think it be cool to do a fishing excursion as well. We enjoy watching your channel and have learned a lot of tips for WDW. Our son will be there in Oct as part of college program for 6 months. Looking forward to visiting when we move him there. Safe travels and keep those videos coming 😉❤️

Woah, this is great! So you're saying you just walked off the ship and into a lumberjack show? My guess is you saved a lot of money that way.

Most of the workers you see in these Alaskan cruise port villages are seasonal workers brought in for the summertime cruise season. The cruise lines also own much of these villages. After the cruise season ends, all the tourist shops and many of the restaurants close until the following year. But for the few year-rounders, many enjoy the natural surrounding beauty so malls might not rank high on their list of leisure. I know of a village in Cape Cod that has a summer season population of 50.000 to 100.000 but during winter it's only 1800 year rounders. One and done with the lumberjack shows!

Great vlog ! If that’s your balcony next to you please don’t hang clothes on the chairs, they can blow off and go in the ocean. If you take the cruise next year then spend some time on Vancouver island. Victoria and Butchart Gardens are really worth a visit. Also in Vancouver go to capilano suspension bridge and tree catwalk, it’s truly amazing.

This particular cruise has such unique excursion opportunities, thanks for sharing your experience with all of it. Also I'm with you when it comes to fresh fudge, I can't pass up on it (happen to me recently in Cape May, haha). So yummy!

@@ArtemisAurora My cruise is during the first week of September. 6 weeks and counting. I live in Central Florida and I am in need of cold weather. It rains every day here so I am use to the wet. :) Hoping to see the Northern lights while I am up there.

The fact that you look at all that wilderness and have no idea what people do for entertainment or to stay busy is the reason why you have to break out that little white towel when the weather gets hot
