Conditioning with swings! 12 minutes, twice a week. That really shed some pesky weight. 12 minutes is tough. I take breaks to catch my breath, but once it's over I feel amazing! My feet and ankles had gotten week from with the years and in activity. Swings made me use my toes for stability and balance and that fixed my arches and my ankles got stronger immediately! Swings literally restored my gait back to normal. Those are just a couple of the many benefits I've gotten from doing swings. Will never stop doing them.

Having the proper diet is key to losing body fat, and not so much exercise! You must switch your body from burning sugar to burning body fat, even when not exercising and this means greatly reducing your intake of carbohydrates and increasing your intake in fats and more in protein. Protein not utilized by your muscles and protein tissues for repair work or growth is converted to glucose for energy. Carbohydrates are not a necessary food for the human body. The fats will control your blood insulin response, which is responsible for keeping fat on your body.a Ketogenic or carnivore diet will accomplish this. Combined with resistance training will increase your fat burning capacity.

In 2020 I completely changed my training. I went Kettlebell only. And I started with a very simple program. 10 minutes a day. Every day and on the 7th day I only did Turkish get-ups for 10 minutes. I dropped 38 pounds within the year, and I went from a 40-inch waist to a 36. My strength increased in all my kettlebell work and calisthenic work. I'm sold out on Kettlebells.

@toosas the traditional movements, in my humble opinion, are the best to use. If you learn how to do proper turkish get ups and sold KB swings (it's a hip hinge, not a squat), you will see great results in many, many areas. Strength, mobility, cardio, and just better movement over all in daily life. Then, after you become proficient in those moments, then start looking into other things, such as goblets squats, overhead presses, squat thrusters, and clean and jerks. Just my thoughts though.

54 year old here. I started with KB training 2-3 months ago. I try to do 100 swings (10x10) every alternate day, if body permits. It has definitely trimmed my body somewhat. I control my diet of course but I mean the shape of body has noticeably changed to be semi-athletic. Considering my age, this is quite a decent exercise and not much investment needed. I have 16kg & 24kg for now and that should be enough for lifetime of swings, snatches, cleans and what not. 🙂

I'm 49 and after some injuries I'm getting back into exercising by way of the kettlebell. It's only been a month but I've literally my fountain of youth to get my functional mobility and core strength where it should be. Like medicine, but better. Bouncing up the stairs once again like in my 20s. No more headrushes when I stand up from squatting. I get the dopamine and stress relief that comes with running, minus the injuries. I couldn't be happier with this method of staying in shape and feeling like I can tackle whatever life throws my way. 💪

@eddieg9506
@eddieg9506 2 года назад
@@nadeemshabudin556 it's been 10 months now. I started with a 15lb kettlebell to break my body in and get used to all of the movements. I read Enter the Kettlebell a few times (actually all the time for like two months) and watched the video carefully. I did the RKC Minimum program with the 15lb for 3 weeks weeks and then increased to a 35lb for a 3 weeks. During that time my body adjusted really well and I knew I was ready to move forward. Everyone is different, so listen to your body and move at your own pace. Next I completed a 13 week Rite of Passage program with the 35lb, alternating pull-ups in between each clean and press, like Pavel recommends. Strength gains come week over week and there's a huge payoff in daily activities! There's some hypertrophy, but that's not really the main focus. I did Turkish Get Ups on my variety days, among other things. It's important to remember not to overdue it with a bunch of exercises on variety days so you don't overload your nervous system and burn out. Currently, I'm in the middle of the next Rite of Passage program with a 50lb kettlebell. I'm much stronger than I was even a month ago. When I began using the 50lb, it really was a bit too heavy, but I took my time, rested longer in between ladders, and started over to allow my body to get used to the weight. That has paid off as I'm cruising through now and just continue to increase in strength, literally every week. I do weighted pull ups and all sorts of variations. I'm even working on muscle-up progressions. On my variety days I do TGUs with the the 50lb and Power to the People Deadlifts (read the book by Pavel Tsatsouline). Again, taking it easy and getting stronger every week. It's a great feeling! Nutrition and rest are super important! Staying injury free is always my first priority, but you're gonna get nicked up from time to time. It's inevitable, but that's okay. It builds character 😎 just make sure to address issues as soon as they come up. Be good to yourself 👍

100 10 kg kettlebell swings a day, I feel, is all I need for life. Making it a daily routine is the key. The exercise double as the best communication tools to know your physical condition. Nice video. One of the reasons for making my own KB was to go heavy with KB swings. Here KBs have become difficult to find, most are low weight and are really expensive. Thank you so much for the motivation. I had a total thyroidectomy in December, and despite never being skinny - but healthy (over 50, overweight, non diabetic, no heart disease, 31 years vegetarian \vegan) i still had the exact same hereditary issue of thyroid cancer. Its more frequent with women, but women & men in my family have had this same issue. 3 months post surgery, i had gained 14 POUNDS! The doctor wasn't worried in the least. Turns out gaining 20 - 30 pounds right after this type of surgery is considered normal because your thyroid regulates metabolism. Medicine accepted this, but i couldn't. I couldn't do a lot of excessive training because you need heavy breathing & the throat is exactly where my stitches & dense scar tissue are. So i looked at my dusty kettlebell sitting on the floor near the tv. I was deconditioning swiftly, & i just took a hopeful chance. I've only been back at it for 6 weeks with a 2 week break (due to tearing scar tissue by just turning the wrong way in my sleep. Trust me. You never want to wake up coughing up blood 😫). Anyway. You just motivated me to stick with it. I was really scared after reinjury... It really is helping with balance, strength, and most importantly its gigging my metabolism a little. Wherever you may be in your life reading this... Don't give up. No matter what your doctor will accept, you don't have to believe the same. Today, i will workout. Honestly, i couldn't have done it without you. New subbie!

The way I lost weight and got muscle was kettlebells and jump rope. Yes I did other things like sprints and barbell work, but it was like my religion. Jump rope only requires you to get half an inch off the ground while firing multiple muscles repeatedly. Kettlebells do the same but you are getting the benifits of power AND strength. Good stuff.

I used to run 2 to 5 miles almost daily. But of course I injured my knees and now I can’t even run with my dogs for a short time without feeling pain. I started doing kettlebell swings only, because I hate the elliptical and bikes. And weight training at the gym is not my thing. I walk a lot, which is great cardio, but just using a 20pd kettlebell has given me a lot of strength in the last two weeks. I’m hoping to move up to 25 pounds soon as the 20 is slowly becoming easier. And it helps with existing knee and back pain

I use one arm, in alternating sets of five reps each arm…five swings with my right arm them five swings with my left arm (no rest) alternating sets of five reps until forty are done. Most times, I max my heart rate out at over 200 BPM (my heart rate monitor only goes up to 210 BPM) and have to lay down in the shade until my heart rate returns to “normal”. You are talking about good form but honestly your form is terrible. You are doing a 'squat swing', not a proper hip hinge, and your shoulders are not packed - they are all hunched up and are actually contributing to the bell moving
