Nirun condos are a fantastic place to live if you are on a strict budget and you don't have your own transportation such as a motorbike. Nirun is like a city within a city you have everything there. Big C extra is less than 10 minute walk where there is a huge food store and a nice food court, and everything else you can think of. . With almost all the units there you pay government rate for your electricity which is less than 4 baht per unit but you usually end up paying the 300 baht monthly maintenance fee, so take some away and get some back. While 5,000B is very reasonable and on the cheap that is high season rate. If you stay full time come back May or june and sign up for a year, many units go for 4,000 a month. You may want to go ahead and get a unit for the 5,000 high season price then keep your eye open for units to come down in price. I should clarify that the units in the big building do rent out for more money, they are a few sq meters bigger and the ones facing outward for now have nice views. If you have transportation better deals can be had on the dark side or other side of the highway....Kev is full of good info.....
I stayed at Nirun for 6 months a few years back. They have different sized rooms at different prices. Yes its cheap but it's quite a depressing place to stay long term, old and run down.

OH MY DAYS!!!! This is where I lived when I was in Pattaya. Had a lovely little condo in the block that faces you when you get to the end of the road before you came back on yourself, and looked at that menu. It wasn't as developed as it is now (this is 2002, so a good few years ago!!). But that is definitely the place. The buildings around it are so much more developed now, it's was all huts outside the main entrance, though there was a great little cafe there (though still in a hut!). If you had a bike, it was central enough, walking street in minutes. Thanks for the "sore bum" details - just what I needed to know! LOL!! Chang always gives me a massive headache the next day.... Interesting video Kev, Some call Nirun Apartments the suicide capital of Pattaya. The Pattata Flying Club capitol. But as one says you get what you pay for.
Man, you brought back some memories there for me. Stayed opposite at Shagwell Mansions for a month back in 2011, nice little area. Shagwell Mansions had a great bar, and next door was an excellent venue called Boomerang Bar (only open peak season) that i loved. Dont know if its still there. Cheers, been to Pattaya 5 times but the holiday around that area holds the best memories for me and this vid brought them flooding back. LIKE THE T SHIRT.

Great vlog mate and I think this could open up a series for you. Lots of people on the border of deciding to retire in LOS. This a good start, but only for people on a very limited budget. A good friend of mine used to do the 6/6 month UK/LOS summer/ winter living until he died last year in his seventies and the this is where he always stayed with his G/F. He used to call it Alkrataz and said it was ok but was looking for a new place, but that never happened. Personally I can afford 2/3 times that price and would like someone to show upmarket options. Just a thought.

I stayed their in a double room my ex wife’s uncle owned one very old small but if your on a budget it’s ok their is shagwell it’s 10 000 per month a nice bar legends but at the bottom you can pay 6 or 7 and their condos it has a swimming pool their and it’s very central
I sorta liked the vid , but was not able to find where you were on the map and spending some time searching the google earth map I could not find anything that resembled where you were or went to .... that apartment complex was massive and I was not able to locate it .... I am comming to Thailand later this year and would like to check out some of these spots .... I can always find sunnys and Robs places but never yours .... I would watch more of your vids if I could follow them
Hey Kev I stayed here in Naurn Grand Ville Condo back in 2012 for 2 months, it was a very nice experience, I stayed in a studio unit from the Months of December and January, I paid about 5000/mo excluding water and electricity. If you are paying the same money today, there has been NO rent increase in 7 years. LOL
Just the ticket Kev! Keep costs to a minimum and spend less of those Baht. There are some small but clean places in Pattaya Thai, Soi Buakhou and a quiet place behind 3rd Road from 3000 to 4000 per month long term. Eat in those excellent little places like the steak venue and life is good.🎩🎩🎩
I'm the resident language Nazi. Not an expert by any means but currently studying Thai. The street is pronounced Pattaya GLAHNG (rhymes with FAHNG "to listen" or WAHNG "to be free or available" such as when a taxi is available. Not KLANG as in Bangkok.

Thai Baht is following the US dollar... and the last 365 days the dollar has droppede 14.4 percent :) We get a lot more Baht for our danish kroner (DKK) now than a year ago :) Nice and informative video Kev :) Compare the pound with the danish kroner (DKK) the difference is more than 22 % since Brexit. (in favor of the DKK)
