Lemme just say one thing. I've had the privilege of seeing Kev live twice, and trust me, Simon and Piers have NO IDEA how talented he really is. He wanted to make the fact that he was armenian stand out because he is proud of his culture (and he should be!) , and he could have done something else in English, as he said. I've heard him play the most amazing pieces, and the way he puts his comedy in it is brilliant. Guys, just wait, one day you might get the chance to see the greatness. HE ROCKS!
A truly great performer...a class act. His mimic and timing is amazing. His many talents, charme and creativity will have us enthralled for many years to come. ....and yes the judges on X faxtor got i totaly wrong this time.
my mom once turned up late for his show in dubai. He noticed them shuffling along and said "HELLO, where have you come from" "jumeirah" they said (this was a housing area) he replied "i have come from Armenia and i STILL managed to get here on time"
Born in 1974 to Armenian parents, Kev Orkian comes from a long line of entertainers; His great grandparents were scriptwriters and introduced the first theatre show to Turkey in the early 1900’s, whilst his grandparents all played numerous musical instruments and one of them was also an amateur comedian. Kev started playing the piano at four years old. Music came naturally to the young Kev -
Dear hayarerforeveer Kev orkian is famous among Armenians he has been touring round the world doing many performances. He has cds doing prank to armenian people round the world and beleave me he is helarious and unique in his way of performing it.
Some Talents and Talented People DO NOT NEED Some Millionares to Sit Behind a Table And Judge Them , They Need to Get tgeir Own Piano and Sit Next to a Fantastic Pianist such as Kev and COMPETE !! LOVE U MY HYE ARMENIAN FELLOW !!
Judges think about it carefully...... He needs to be among people......... He is a true entertainer. He is charming, talented, great pianist, great sense of humor, positive, full of energy..... Besides it is rude to interrupt an act and buzz in the middle of someones acting, i do not care how bad it can be , which in this case was totally wrong to do.
I saw this guy live when he was working on tour with joe pasquale he was/is absolutely hilarious! i really wanted him to go through to the finals, Just a shame he didn't!
Sadly Kev's act couldn't be shown in it's fullest funniest form, but go see him live if you get the chance. Brilliant comedian and brilliant musician. Have known him for a few years now, and he's always busy, whether here in the UK or elsewhere in the world too. Love him!!!
@Ferruchio ,he is british but his mom is armenian he is from north london i love the way he sang that song the mixture between english turk armenian he is a great pianist
he was at the edinburgh fringe festival, and he suits it way more than this competition. he's an absolute genius when you're actually up close and personal with the guy, an absolutely amazing pianist and comedian, and his fringe show was the best £11 i have ever spent in my life.
The thing is that he already had a decent career in entertainment. Touring with dance troupes, playing concert piano at the Sydney Opera House, etc. etc. So, while it may have been disappointing, this was not really a big blow to him. In fact, it's been nothing but good. He got exposed to a huge audience (British [BGT] and international [youtube]). Check out his website and you'll see that he's quite accomplished already. I love this man's comedy and love his piano playing even more.
I feel sorry for Kev he was so happy and so looking forward to the semi final and he gets bad reviews and 2 buzzers. But it was a one trick pony thoe. Best of luck in the future Kev
He said a few lines in perfect Turkish.I don't know what this makes him , an english , an armenian or a turkish but he's got a very interesting character.
I feel sorry for how he related himself to being half Turkish and it was really foolish of him because he said his mom was an Armenian and his family name is completely Armenian “Orkian”. .
@Nvakogh ok...let's see....so he's a comedian.....and what he did was extremely funny....plus...he sang in armenian besides english....he played the piano...forgot to say that he actually sang really good but i'd repeat that...oh well ...he had the accent...the carisma...charm...everything.... If this didn't impress the judges then what? I'd watch his act all over and over again...just great!
@SuperEDUARD1988 i don ' t wanna upset u but if u watch the first oddition he said his mother is armenian but he was born in north london and anyway it not the point he is a very good artist i love the way hi sing
I like this guy a lot, but I don't think this is one of his better routines. He definitely has a lot of talent and charm, though, so I'm sure he'll go far.
Then again may be he was born in Turkey which could be normal case, there are allot of Armenian living in Turkey with Turkish passport in their hand. I am a proud Armenian and felt very happy to c an Armenian joining in such competition and using his identity in a funny way besides that stupid half/half part
He is an amazing comedian! Yet, Simon is a simple capitalist… Kev told recently in an interview that Simon suggested him to sign a contract with Simon to give 33% of his earnings for 6 years. Kev refused on the day of this exact show and 10 minutes before his turn they said he isn’t allowed to perform with what he prepared and had to think of something different. This is what he came up with in under 10 minutes. Simon simply set him a trap… also the BTG is the one that approached Kev and asked to take a part in the show. They wanted him to be the winner. The price was too high so he refused to be the winner
Kev is way too professional for that amateur show!... Although I know he could have done a lot better, he still was entertaining and hilarious as always!... He should have done a comedy sketch instead! He would have made the finals for sure!
@iAMxWiL Absolutely right comment sir... However I wanted to contest the way they did the buzzing... Simon right after the beginning and Piers in the middle of the song... disgusting behaviour... (the shit-eating offer is still up for them)
Being a good "hayaser" is a good thing but try to understand this brilliant “Armenian” talent and what was his target joining this competition and what he had in mind at that time.At the end we should not attack people in such a way; we should find another way to show our anger on any subject relating Armenian/Turkish issue.
Yes, his real accent is North London accent, you can hear it when he speaks to judges. Also, his parents speak Western Armenian, people in Armenia speak Eastern Armenian and accents are different. So, for us , Armenians from Armenia the accent he puts up sounds more Middle Eastern , we speak differently in English
Where do you come up with that? He is full blood Armenian. You can hardly find any mixture of Armenian with Turk. Turks committed Genocide on Armenians and occupied Western Armenia ( modern eastern Turkey)...All so called mixtures are those born to kidnapped Armenian women and they grew Muslim Turks. Not part of Armenia anyway.
@crazyj11 i think no one understood his khent khent paner geses indzi haha :p not all people can speak armenian but i laughed the fellow armenians laughed :p
Kev didnt do well at BGT, he messed up and there was no point in getting amanda involve in his song. i am very dissapointed in him, iam armenian myself
