Kevin Costner returned to the director's chair with his most ambitious project yet. The Oscar-winning actor-director writes, directs, produces and stars in "Horizon: An American Saga," a four-part movie series about the American West. Costner talks to "CBS Mornings" co-host Gayle King about the years-long effort to make "Horizon" and his future plans after leaving "Yellowstone."

Absolutely. Gayle was borderline obnoxious. Not sure if there were a lot of jump cuts in this interview... it felt way too speedy and in your face...or in Costner's face. Was CBS trying to get the interview in less than 7 minutes ? The best interviews with Costner are when the interviewer just slows down and has a real conversation with him. He's very interesting and contemplative in his thinking . Interviewers seem so rude when they don't see this about him.

Taylor should respect that and just shoot around his character and give him space but keep his story open ended. John Dutton is the Governor now…just say he has to go stay in the Governor’s machine in the state capitol for a while or has to go to DC or something. No reason to take Kevin out of Yellowstone and especially no reason to end the series. This got way out of hand and now everyone loses.

My favorite KC role is still "Butch" in "A Perfect World". Everyone should see the extended version of "Dances with Wolves" it's almost a different movie. I personally loved "The Postman". I really liked "Waterworld" and "Mr. Brooks" and "No Way Out" were underrated. One of my ALL time favorite actors/filmmakers.

He’s always said from the beginning of Yellowstone that he wanted to do other projects as well. Taylor knew what he was signing on. Taylor probably didn’t see himself get so busy like he is now, and we’re waiting for other shows to start. I’m so excited to see Horizon! Way to go, Kevin!

Yellowstone was pitched from Day 1 as 'The Godfather on a ranch." So Costner as Vito Corleone and was supposed pass it on to the next in line (Beth?)and then die. But once the show became super popular, he wanted to remain on as the Star of the show and the producers allowed it. Then Kevin flipped direction and just up and left the show in season 5 to go make Movies instead. And here we are.

Taylor left Kevin out of a job for more than a year, knowing Kevin had planned Horizon after and in between YS. When Kevin came on set after that year the script for YS wasn't ready! So I give Kevin full credit here and Taylor is a big coward not backing up Kevin when gossip didn't tell the truth about this. It was convenient for him staying in the background. A great script writer a bad people person. Don't mess with kevin.

After Taylor left YS hanging for more then a year, working on 4 other projects, making 500 mil. a year. Kevin worked on Horizon, TS knew that it was planned.Taylor didn't want to get him back he already wrote an ending with out answering Kevin. So yes Kevin is moving on too.

It's just not true, Taylor didn't have a script ready, they showed up on set. Taylor wasn't there! He left them without jobs, and some people like Kevin had things to do. Taylor didn't communicate for a long time, a great screenwriter and a terrible boss for YS!
