Sometimes, people will take/remove items from the home, that DON'T BELONG to them!! This does/can happen to ANYONE, who is leaving a relationship!!! I was in that very SAME situation BACK in 1993, when I left a relationship, and my partner eyed a new knife that I'd purchased and he swore up and down, that "IT belonged to him", when it DIDN'T!! I BOUGHT that knife, but HE WANTED IT!!! I left some boxes at his home, which he later mailed to me, and surely enough, he'd went through these boxes before mailing them off to me, and found the knife and TOOK IT!! When I got the boxes in the mail, the disappearance of the knife, was CLEARLY evident to me!! That was the very FIRST thing that I NOTICED!!! He got the knife that I'd purchased, anyway!! He REALLY thought in his mind, that this knife BELONGED to him!! I think he did this to get back at me for LEAVING him, in some way!!! People are capable of ANYTHING, when a partner is leaving them!!! Sometimes, things can get pretty MESSY in those situations!!! And in my opinion, Kevin was just trying to AVOID this situation!! And he was going to make sure that she didn't do to him, what my ex did to me!! And that's UNDERSTANDABLE!!! So, I DON'T think Kevin Costner was acting CRAZY or is a "gangster" in this situation, AT ALL!! These things can happen to anyone, during breakups!!!!! Sometimes, we are left with attempting to protect ourselves and the things that we OWN!!! AND, that's NOT CRAZY, in the least!! It's called PRESERVATION!!!

I got zero child support after 25 years for our 2 youngest of 4. So the judge awarded me the house - 70% to me and 30% to him if I move, sell or remarry. Not planning on doing any of the above. So in effect he gets nothing. Mr Costner has the right of it.

I don’t think money replaces a spouse. Children grow up and move away but the foundation has to be strong for a marriage to last. I feel bad for both of them. He should’ve been willing to spend more time with his family, because kids aren’t cats… you can’t just leave food and water and expect them to love you when you return.
