Most entrepreneurs hate giving up equity so Kevin gives an alternative with little equity where they can just pay him off with royalties until he gets a return.

He did get a better deal from another shark but he had patent issue with one of the other companies so the deal never went through. Moreover, he got cancer and died later. There was crowd funding barely anyone supported it. He's survived by his wife and kids. May his soul R.I.P. He could've figured out something. Wish he was alive.

Kevin offers these types of deals all the time. It's for companies that are low on cash and burning it through a rapid rate. Therefore it's difficult to get a loan knowing that they're gonna lose it and need another one over and over again. Barbara and Lori offer debt all the time as well. It's venture debt. Imagine somebody coming asking for a loan saying yeah we're losing money every month. And I'll probably need more money later, and I'm probably going to dilute the company when I do that. But please give me money cuz we're running out. Some commenters laugh cuz they dunno how it works.
