Everything he speaks is truth and comes from life experience. He refuses to allow the world to mold him into a specific stereotype, no matter what is said about him or his music or public appearances... I have walked almost the exact path - with the same struggles - at just about the same time-frames as Kevin has, and I began my healing journey at the same time he did without knowing it, which (I swear to God) been the absolute ONLY thing that has gotten me through my healing journey to "learn to love the stranger that was once myself." I wholeheartedly believe he has been sent here with a purpose to fulfill in this world that will either change the world or help many people all over the world - as he already has! I need to hear these clips because I know when I hear his voice I am hearing transparency, honesty, spirituality, selflessness, and wisdom. I hear a comforting voice that I know is always THE TRUTH and that I can relate to, and he has made it very clear during our connection that I am not alone in this world with my struggles, even though I thought I was the only one who had suffered this much at such a young age. Kevin Gates has touched my soul like no other artist EVER has, and he has literally kept me from going insane (like, checking myself into the psych hospital, withdrawing from school, and quitting my job) and probably from taking even more drastic measures. He's not an angel; not a spirit; but some sort of spiritual being or aura inside and around him that connects with the struggling - but only spiritually open - people who feel lost, alone, abandoned, like the black sheep, depressed, perhaps even suicidal, no love or positive energy for themselves, and the spiritually bankrupt researchers who can relate to the same life experiences he speaks about regularly. Yes, call me crazy just like he says - and I don't care either - but I DO believe that he's more than just human... There is no public figure ever in my life that I have EVER felt so personally connected to without ever meeting yet. Thanks to his honesty and transparency, I have been able to relate to the same struggles he went through at the same time in life - such as the drug addiction, missing daughter's birthday, feeling like a bad parent for breaking a promise to your daughter, being the black sheep of the family, being in his own since 13, losing best friend while I was away and never got to say goodbye which killed me (and she was murdered as well), life in the streets (not as rough as Baton Rouge, but I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), getting clean, trying to live in your truth, beginning your journey, starting process to love yourself, aid and assist others along the way, make up for mistakes to your kids, being proud of how far you've come already in the transformation, and much more... I can't explain what it is, but from the jump, he has always had my attention and not just for the music - I appreciated the fact that he spoke TRUTH, which most artists do not. That fact alone puts him in a unique category! The first time I heard him speak in an interview, I was blown away by his intelligence, and from then in, I just felt some sort of spiritual connection - as if we were in the same path and I just needed to let things happen and whatever is meant to be will be. I experienced a hell of a lot of pain and MANY losses the most don't ever experience in a LIFETIME, let alone by the age of 35, when I experienced all of these losses. I became a widow by age 35. Right after that, my older daughter's biological father who was not related to my late husband also passed away, so neither my son nor my daughter had their fathers - both right before major family holidays: Christmas and Father's Day. Additionally, my best friend was murdered and I was completely unaware because I was away and did not know for a month so never got to say goodbye... Plus it broke my heart that she was murdered in a domestic violence situation the night before her birthday and she was discovered the next morning by her 10 yr old daughter... So I think I'm gonna move on and get with this dude and at first it's okay, but then turns toxic and near the end he said this - which was what made me decide to leave : "No one's gonna want you anyway cause everyone who ever loved you ends up dead - You're cursed." That's when I knew that it was time to learn to love myself. That comment was made to me in December of 2022, and I moved out in January 2023, and I am STILL trying to convince myself that I'm not cursed... So far, it's not working!!! But because of Kevin's positive energy and uplifting words, I have hope that I can heal. If Kevin can find peace, I have hope that I can, too, and I continue to try to find peace along my journey. Thank you, Kevin Gates, for sharing your real life experiences with the world so that us spiritual believers are able to connect with you and search for peace in our journeys. I truly can say I do love you as a person because you have saved my life and you gave me the strength to walk away from that toxic situation, trust that I can take care of myself and find love and peace within myself with some effort. I will end with my absolute favorite Gates quote, which comes from the song "Give it All I Got", and this quote sums up my whole life up to this point - AND I just got this phrase tattooed on me TODAY at a tattoo convention: "Turn my pain into purpose..." - Kevin Gates
