This chorus is going to be my next tattoo.. i was running the streets for years and ended up getting 4 counts of dealing meth, almost got sentenced to 30 years but drug court saved my life. Now I'm thriving, 13 months clean, i got a house, a car, a good job, fiance, and expecting a baby in December. I really did come up out the mud. So blessed. 🙌

I'm a proud daughter my mom was on drugs for three years and I thought I lost her when she went into the hospital and I sat beside her and I prayed. she was on drugs real bad and I am so blessed to have them mom as wonderful as her I'm only 11 and I really thought I lost my mom at 11 years old

This song speaks to me in so many ways. The hook itself says it all💯 “God got me up, took me in, sat me down, broke me down , said make me proud”! I have been clean for 3 years Oct.11,2021 and had it not been for the man up above making me realize that I was wasting the life I was blessed to have.. I know I wouldn’t be here today. I went to prison which made me get off the drugs (heroin), then finding out I was pregnant while incarcerated, and going 8 and a half months of my pregnancy in prison. I had gotten clean and relapsed before. It was a 10 year battle but this time shit hit me different and I was done and haven’t ever looked back. I gave birth to a healthy boy, have been clean 3 years and counting, and have put myself back on top with everything in my life. 💯💯💯God took me in, sat me down, broke me down, and said make him proud and I feel like I can say that I’ve been doing just that. This song is and will always be one of my favorites..I play it almost daily and it still gives me chills🙏🏽🙏🏽🥰🥰🥰

What a testimony!! I pray you will get to your upcoming 5 year celebration of sobriety. When we look back on life and think about the tines God saved us... and then there's a million more we don't even know about!!! I have never done heroin but am an alcoholic and DAMN.. God got more out here for us than that life! 12^23^23 Lord willing is my 5 year celebration. All the glory goes to God cause he truly delivered me from it. I as well am coming up on 15 MONTHS completely clean from a IV heroin addiction I've battled for 13 years. This is my longest stretch of recovery I've ever had an I started trying to get clean 8 years ago. An like you THIS SONG right here has been on my daily playlist. God bless you! I've been struggling with addiction most of my life. I was clean for 12yrs & relapsed on heroin. Took me about 9 months before I decided to go back to the methadone clinic. I'm gonna keep u in my prayers. Keep ur head up & don't let ANYTHING take u back to the darkness.

Spent 5 years letting life hold me down had pretty well watched everyone I love give up on me, over dosed fought everything I was going through alone and struggling to be a mom. About a year and a half ago I made a choice to choose to do something greater than continuing the path I was on every turn I took though seemed to be more impassible than the last, my best friend played me this song one night in my hardest times the loss of my son and my a friend of more than 15 years everything I was struggling with was things normal people handle yes hard but they handle it wasn’t until I really sat listening to the word to the song that i realized that I had already gone so far and to turn back was more hazardous than good I was at my lowest of lows in life fighting to get back up and I had to just trust that even though I was broken down I had to trust god to bring me through it and know that the plan he had and still has was worth it. I hear this song now and I know broken down beaten and wanting to give up is where I was now I hold faith in life that god will help me through the hardest of moments and I just have to trust because if not I stay stuck. Kevin gates is a fanatically phenomenal artist and dose a amazing job at connecting with his fans when it comes to his music I love his work love this song love the truth in everything he has put out
