@DHaynesakafingerrs Hi, I saw your video here playing the drum machine and is very cool, not like anything I've heard before. I am wondering if because you're using the small muscles it cause any pain or problems? Or is it like writing at a computer? Thanks!
Thanks for the post Kevin. Another example of the Stick being able to provide such a wonderful vehicle for personal expression (in the hands of a master). You motivated me to put away the mouse and pick up my Stick. Well done!
Kevin Keith has been demonstrating the new Chapman Railboard. $500.00 less expensive because its manufacture is more technologically advanced (more automation) and the sound is as good as the instrument in this video. I am seriously considering taking the plunge, and I'm a keyboard player...His demo is called Reinventing the Chapman Stick:
WHY ARE WE NOT FUNDING THIS??? ooohhh because they are......actually talented. *-The world we live in gets dimmer everyday-*. -quote by some edgy hipster-
For those of you asking about this song, this song is a bit from a couple different songs on Kevin and Davids album, "This is EJE". You can find it on Amazon if you search for it, excellent album!
Great!i'm breathless..!what kind of Presonus gear they were demonstrating?really curious about Chapman stick preamplification..!i'm looking for a preamp for my touch style tunes:)
Hey there! We were running this show through a StudioLive 24.4.2. I'm not sure what preamp he uses, but I bet you can ask him on his channel: ru-vid.com
Just a hint - if you're a PRO at rhythm-, lead- and bass-guitar playing, you may try to handle the Stick. It's a wild mix of these three separate instruments
Unbelievable for me that some people in the vid are more interested in the paintings on the wall and things than in that great piece of music being performed live - well everybody might have different priorities...
He manages to execute the bass lines with perfection and feel, but as a guitar player I somehow can't get over the tone of the treble strings being tapped. I guess it's a matter of getting your ears used to it, though. Either way, amazing performance of a masterful artist.
how can all those people in the background just walk on by??? musically dead i guess! damn whats up with ;that, these guys are seriously good and the music is so good.
I expect there are some cheap Chapman Stick knockoffs, but none will be that cheap or that fantastic - considering what it is, it might be worth looking into making one yourself, a great way to get one on the cheap :)
