Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love is given the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2020 ESPYS. After publicly sharing his experience with anxiety and panic attacks, Love has made a concerted effort to promote mental health and wellness, positively impacting the lives of many in the process.

Im from Ohio, seeing Kevin Love speak up about his anxiety and depression made me finally feel I am not the only one. Everyone is going through something in their lives and before he said anything I was nervous and scared to tell people I had the same problem. Kevin Love made me understand it's okay to be going through this and also made me realize it's okay to speak up also seeing a counselor. I have been speaking up about mental health and I want people to express their feelings. Just remember you are not alone. Everyone is going through something. Thank you Kevin Love for being my hero. You definitely saved my life and a whole bunch of other people across the globe!

I’ve had mental health issues since I was 13 and sports have definitely helped me during a very rough time. Kevin you are helping people understand a tough battle and I don’t have the words to express how grateful I am. Thank you for being the voice for the voiceless.

Derozan advocated for mental health awareness as well. He brought to light alot of times he deals with depression and anxiety on and off the court. This has nothing to do with a ring. I’m from Toronto btw

When we thought of him as K-Love, the cool stretch-4 on the Cavs, we forgot it's not just a jersey, some stats and a pretty jumpshot we're talking about. It's a man that sleeps, struggles, eats and poops. And a very very good man at that! You saved my relationship with a mentally unhealthy but wonderful woman and for that plus 2016, nobody will ever thank you enough, Kev!!

I suffered thru anxiety my whole life, and had my first ever panic attack 3 weeks ago. Scariest thing I’ve ever felt in my life. Literally, literally thot I was gna die. I’m learning triggers and coping skills. It’s tough. Especially this year.

He did, and not only that, he spoke out about it and how even a rich athlete can go through this struggle. Not only that but he used his money to also start a fund and foundation and help people. For any story you can take your opinion and find another athlete you think have "shown more courage than him."
