Taker also has no reason to be bitter. He’s had every bit of a 5 start career as anyone could ask for. 30 years actively in the game and a relevant top of the car performer for legit all 30 of those years. Not many people can pull that off, certainly not Nash. Kev is bitter that he hasn’t been totally relevant since 02/03 and some may say even further back than that during the climax of the original NWO run back in 98/99.

In this instance I tend to agree, Nash is super biased towards size, Bundy was the same way, he made some disparaging remarks about both Hart and Michaels when they were champion, saying they looked like little kids. Bret was super biased towards the work rate, so who's right? Well neither is altogether wrong, yes you do need some size and yes you do need to be able to work but what really gets you over is your personality and probably how well you can sell that personality to others, your charisma, in other words, what you have on the INSIDE, this is why Guerrero got over. I didn't care for Benoit all that much (no not because of that), but Guerrero was definitely entertaining, he didn't have the size? Depends, what you mean by size, he didn't have the height but he wasn't a small man by any means and he definitely could work but what got him over was his charming personality and overall charisma. Also, Mantell here is right, Nash says they "killed" the business, uh no? Wrestling is still going pretty strong today, yes it's not what it used to be but it's far from dead or being "killed". I think people talk some times and don't think before they speak, yet you know if one of these guys talked about him being the lowest paid and drawing WWE Champion in 1995, he'd get mad, and maybe send out another fake tweet to invite someone to a UFC fight........well, unfortunately Hellwig fell for that one hook line and sinker!

The NWO storyline literally pushed Nitro ahead of Raw in the ratings and forced Vince to pivot into the Attitude era. If their storytelling was so horrible, how did WCW push the WWF to the brink of financial collapse at the height of the Monday Night Wars when WCW beat them for 83 weeks? Criticize his booking, make fun of his four move set copy and paste matches, but Kevin, Scott, Bischoff, and even Hogan not only brought WCW up to the WWF’s level but surpassed them for a time. People were tuning in in such large numbers that Vince accepted the way the business was turning, let guys improvise and become super stars, and eventually stopped taping RAW ahead of time to compete with a live show vs Nitro.

Nash and Hall went to WCW as invaders and revitalized Hogans career. They formed the heel faction and became the hottest new thing not only outshining WWF but making wrestling more popular than it was. And they did it for roughly a year or more before the Austin Era. Got back and watch Nash as a Wolf Pack member and watch the crowd pop 🎉. Nash, in that case has revitalized wrestling, bringing in the retro and cool vibe. He and Scott Hall are considered top 10 best tag team members as "The Outsiders." This is the one thing Nash got over CM Punk when him and Nash were going at each other on the mics 🎤. Kevin Nash is comparing Eddie Guerrero's and Chris Benoit's era to the attitude era, but no era in wrestling can match that. He should also take note that their eras beat his era as champion by a large margin. Kevin's reign as WWF champion is thought of as the worst in WWE history. I used to watch Kevin's podcast all the time but he lost me on the episode where he covered Dutch making a comment on the trans wrestler. (which I disagree with Dutch's take, by the way). Kevin was reading a list of what it's like to be woke and none of it had anything to do with being woke. They think woke is being left leaning politically, which is far from the truth. Woke is believing in an alternate reality. Woke vs based. Based in reality. Being woke means you believe a real woman has a penis. Being woke means 4+4= racism. He was saying that being woke means you believe in science, which is a reference to the covid vaccine. But that's not believing in science, that's falling for government and media propaganda. Anyway, I like Kevin but I just couldn't take the bs he spews.

we can say whatever about the out ring stuff but the notion that benoit and guerroro killed wrestling is insane. if nothing else they brought credibility to the sport as opposed to watching lugs like Nash, Sid, Hogan, etc try to gimmick their way through matches. guerrero in particular brought flair's in ring skill (not the same just the skill level and attention to ring work) and combined it with a modern psychology which was freakin incredible. i think nash is always defensive that smaller guys could do what the bigger guys did in terms of popularity (think hbk, hart, mysterio, benoit, kidman, guerrero, etc) and also be excellent in ring performers

So the likes of Eddie, Benoit and even to a degree Shawn Michael's as he's not that big, I enjoyed watching them get over on the bigger guys. Everybody loves an underdog story. Plus if only the big guys ever win then people wouldn't watch. Look at boxing, 6'4 Uysk beats 6'9" Fury... that's a 5 inch difference that's about the same height difference between Eddie and Stone Cold or Benoit and Triple H. I can meet Nash halfway here; because I also believe it did irrevocably change the landscape of professional wrestling, even though both Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit were deserving Champions and two of the best in-ring workers of the 90's and 2000's. There have been Champions who were shorter and smaller than many of the "larger than life" wrestlers who have held Championships throughout the decades like Buddy Rodgers, Jerry Lawler, or Shawn Michaels, but those shorter and smaller guys were standouts amongst their much larger peers. After Guerrero & Benoit, the business declared that "smaller guys" were always deserving of the top prize. Obviously you have the standouts after them, like AJ Styles, Bryan Danielson, Rey Misterio, CM Punk and a few others who through skill and presence could sell the idea of them being the top dog in a land of giants. But they weren't the only ones, because WWE, TNA, AEW, ROH and promotions all over the world felt justified putting major titles on guys that have the musculature and size of your average cashier at a movie theater, just because they pop the crowd with highspots. Spike Dudley and Mikey Whipwreck were beloved because of how tough they were when fighting against these enormous opponents, twenty five years later, guys the same size as Spike Dudley and Mikey Whipwreck are routinely beating guys who are 6'6" and 275lbs like it's no big deal.
