I like Conan's interviews the best, because he was always a writer and a back room guy. He got to know lots of these famous people on a friendly level, slightly outside of the TV realm. So then, his interviews really are just like having conversations with your friends.

Kevin is so hilarious he just kills me I keep coming back for more and more and more he's so under-appreciated or under-estimated or under wear something of the und-erworld.... I think he would love that joke
the twist is kevin is reliving the same year over and over until he can get jack nicholson to give him a real answer, kind of like ground hog day mixed with quantum leap
I literally have no memory of this comment or why I grabbed onto that one detail at the beginning of the story. Also no clue why you are replying to it 8 years later.
I thought the punchline was going to be that the place Kevin said "Lake Sherwood", was a reference to the location where Jack Nicholson used his golf clubs to attack someone's car back in the '90s. And that Adam Sandler had fed him this bad info earlier and thus was laughing at tricking Kevin into mentioning it. My version makes more sense. Kevin's still hilarious though.
