Years ago a very well known charity came to our place of work &" spent the day trying to encourage us to sign up for automatic charitable contributions that would automatically sweep from your account each pay period. Many of us signed up & donated much to this charity. Found out several years later that they had a terrible track record & very high costs in running said charity. Be careful who you donate your hard earned cash to. Now, i much prefer to give directly when i see someone in need

They actually gave away the donation trick and income tax avoidance way back in the days when Archewell was first created as both of them at separate times made comments that things like Disney and Netflix were not money for them but were money they were having those companies donate to their do good charity. Then we got the correct story from Harry who told Oprah he had to do the Netflix deal because dad cut him off and he had no income. Questions were raised at that point and that's when it was discovered Archewell had bee created in a state that required only 5% of donations had to be spent on charitable endeavors to continue to be considered a charity and the other 95% could be used for salaries, expenses, admin costs and so on. Of course, Harry and Meghan only work 1 hour a week, which means their salary is way below any amount that would require either to file income tax, or worse Harry have to pay taxes in the UK as well as the US as he is a UK citizen It also raises the question is here hear on a work Visa and even allowed to work, if not having enough income to require a tax return could cause a ruckus. So then they can live off the 'donations' that Netflix, Spotify, Random House, Harpo Productions, P&G, and miscellaneous payments for speeches and appearances made it look like Archewell was racking in the donations. I am sure that the reason this year appears to have so much less donated is that while Spare sold well it had not really exceeded sales that covered the advances and other costs, like the Ghost Writer, that Random House had paid for up front. Then Spotify dropped them and while Meghan has leaked that they were paid in full for their contract, there have been some leads that that was not the case. While Netflix had 'donated' an advance, they may well not be making as much as expected for just their docufantasy and Meghan playing a marching stork for Invictus Games. I doubt that ever really collected donations except what they were paid and had funneled into Archewell, certainly not enough to make up the pure loss they are seeing.
