I met him at a local comedy club after he headlined. He signed over 100 autographs and did an impression to talk to everyone. Amazing guy. I told him he was one of my favorite comics, and he said "Well I feel bad for you!"
I waited on this guy back in my college years. I watched him hold court with the people at his table for 2 hours straight. He seemed like an absolute joy to be around.
Kevin Pollack is one of the best impressionists ever. For example: most impressions of Christopher Walken tend to be focused around the more memorable and over-the-top qualities of his voice; but Mr Pollack's impression is a more subtle, nuanced and, ultimately. more complete and accurate likeness. That seems to be the way he approaches all of his impressions.
Kevin Pollak is an idol of mine. I used to watch Deal of a Lifetime everytime it was on TV and bursted out laughing with him dressed as a lunch lady. One of the funniest and most humble artists out there and I have him just beside Jessica Harper and Robert Englund on my list of favorite criminally underrated actors.
@3:57 I did the same thing when I met William. Shatner. It was in Las Vegas at a casino. I was wasted And I walked up to him and I said "may the force be with you". He chuckled and And as I shook his hand, corrected me by saying " I believe that is from star WARS?"
I remember him guesting on a UK show in the late eighties, and thought he was way better than our home-grown impersonators. The William Shatner cracked me up!
Pollack does the best Walken, but Jay Mohr also does a damn good Walken, as well as impressions nobody else really goes, like Andrew McCarthy and Harvey Keitel.
He makes it into a self-effacing joke but that is the secret. He works on Walken two hours a day. And when you hear it, it’s amazing. Put it another way it’s one thing to have the gift, another thing to work your ass off to make it happen. .
2 of my favourite movies - have both on DVD. He was also great on the sitcom Mom, one of Chuck Lorre's productions. Love his impressions. I grew up with Rich Little and Frank Gorshin, and more recently Robin Williams.

A reason you don't do an impression of a person for that person, is no one hears their voice the way other people do. Your own voice sounds different to you than it does to everyone else. The person will never think you do a good impression, unless you do the voice they hear. Of course, in that case everyone else will think your impression sucks.
Back in the Celtics heyday a radio station did a Johnny Most impersonation contest. Sadly Johnny finished third. Billy West won and went on to fame from there.
Never did I know that Kevin Pollack was in goddamn Willow. That's a cool Peter Falk story. One more thing, my wife loves you but...I don't agree with that in the workplace.
Agreed. Not , only does Kevin nail the voice, but his cadence is more natural and his choice of words and phrases is spot on. Not saying that Spacey's is bad, but this one is a few notches above.
I've heard him attempt several and then admit that he sucked at doing it. That's not to say that he's not gifting at impersonation, just that sometimes he overreaches.
