Would you have found Kevin's thin value shove on the river that made this lucky outcome possible? Let us know!

What an insane hand with the incredible outcome to win after being oversetted :) But even putting results aside, invaluable to catch the thought process behind every decision of both players in such a hand. Nice Valentine's Day gift!

I think Michael didn't meant that raise is his first at the table but rather that he raise first in the pot meaning the pot is unopened at that point.

Why is the turn 40% bet size preferred over a turn shove?

the whole point of not shoving is to make pair+draw hands indifferent with a small bet, shoving gives that portion of krab’s range an easy decision.

The villain constantly sniffling drive me crazy. I couldn’t watch their training segment on S4Y because of this.

I can only assume this river discussion was an attempt to lure players into their games or for humorous purposes. Michael is (should be) pot committed by the river. His thought should be is his expectation higher checking & letting Kevin bluff or bet worse hands or is it higher shoving and getting called by worse? Kevin’s thin value shove indicates he clearly thinks that Michael would hardly ever check a better hand to induce a bluff, and so he might get called by worse hands like AK (9 cases). He obviously thinks there is no way Michael is folding a better hand. Plausible theoretically, but misguided at the table. Back to Michael who has an automatic GTO call. He has to call 850 to win 3150. This implies an MDF of almost 80% and trip kings is clearly in the top 80% of hands he could have. However, at the table, he correctly reads that Kevin is making a value bet, and not a bluff. Since most (all?) of Kevin’s value bets are straights, he attempts an exploitative fold. Hopeless thinking and playing by both players.
