I get asked so many questions along similar lines, so i thought it would be helpful to answer in this video. Why do i walk with Lions, how do the Lions come back to the vehicle and so on. Great to spend some time Vayetse and Ginny as well - always feels like Livy should be there. Be interested to read your views in the comments below. Thank you for the support it is such a boost ongoing and very noticeable in 2024 so far !

It's amazing... I see shorts from Vervet Monkey Forest that say "sanctuary", and they still get comments "why aren't these babies with their mothers!?". Maybe if you include "sanctuary lions" in the shorts titles, they'll get it. Either way, I'm happy you do what others can only dream of...Bobcat's little chuff when he greeted you the other day had devotees of all cats (big and small) thrilled!

Kevin's famous patience extends not only to his lions, leopards and hyenas but also to the endlessly opinionated, uninformed commenters. Love you Kevin for the work you do for wildlife, for the communities in your area and the mental health contribution you make to so many of us followers with your beautiful, kind videos. I am sure there is so much more you do that you don't advertise. Thank you for it all.

These walks aren't just for lions! I learned from this channel years ago and, as an experiment, took my ducks out for an enrichment walk- no fences, no restrictions, just fun. They were SO happy and never thought of running away. We've been doing them regularly ever since. They love them. As an unexpected bonus, it also bonded us like nothing else quite has. To them, I'm no longer a scary predator creature that they tolerate because I bring them food- I'm an expedition buddy and personal body guard 😂 So thank you again from my ducks and from me, Kevin!!!

I was in hospital recently. There was a new Kev You Tube..I was watching when med staff came in. I explained who Kev was, what he’s saying in this video and before long - EVERY staff member who came in my room wanted to see and asked so many questions. Many new fans gained that stay! 💚Asked them all to become supporters and also buy cool Lion clothing! (I’m fine now- my lions and Kev helped!)

Kevin, thank you for another beautiful video. I guess one of the drawbacks of having this fabulous channel is people that have no knowledge of wildlife and offering their uneducated opinions. I always smile when someone says you’re going to be lunch or you’ve got a death wish. I think after 25 years of studying animal behavior and bonding with these animals, I’d say you know what you’re doing. But I’ve always had the idea if I’m one day killed by a wild animal, more than likely it’s because of something I did wrong. Keep up the incredible work and thank you for taking us along on the journey. I sure miss Livy. She was almost as naughty as Gabby. Hug Ginny and Mr. Big for me. Much love and respect from Tennessee USA.

Kevin, I have been joining you and the lions on these walks for so long that I forget that new people will stumble on the videos and not understand. I hope they will be intrigued enough to go back and watch some of the older videos, when you and the lions had fun wrestling and rolling around on the ground together, and when you got Meggie to come swimming with you. (That was back in the days when none of us had grey hair yet. 😄) There is so much to see and so much to learn. And the story isn't over yet.

I perhaps haven't realized since I did some things as long as I can remember, but I have such a good relationship with every cat due to the hints I got from you. Some of it is because I grew up around cats and have always found them better company than people, but the phrases such as "enrichment walk" and "no negative association" must have come from you. My cats (even the one I got when he was older) are calm, they are not afraid of things other cats are (claw-clipping, examination, going outside even though one was ultra-scared at the start). My oldest (who's been with me for 14y) has been praised for his behaviour, and people often can't believe as we go out for a walk that he understands my phrases. I have not trained him consciously; we just repeat things, and I kept a certain tone for a certain thing I want him to do. Vet visits for him are a great experience because even if it hurts a little bit, he gets treats and praises afterwards and, as you said, "positive experiences". The younger one, whom I've had for 2 years, was afraid of his own shadow. You can see he had plenty of trauma from the past. He was abandoned and lived on the street for a year before a shelter got to him and called the previous owner, who did not care. Now, when I call him for claw-clipping, he comes because he knows it won't hurt and he'll get a treat after. He doesn't like to go for a walk, but he stops screaming when I carry him out. Because he knows I'll stop as soon as he does, and if he gets scared, we'll go back inside. We can go 50m from the entrance now when he didn't even want to get close to the open door from the apartment 2y ago. He is interested if someone visits now, when he had to hide somewhere as soon as the door opened. And now friends call me over for THEIR cats (and sometimes dogs). It's FASCINATING when you think about it. How easy it is if you just adapt to their own comunication and time.

Kevin, I've been watching your "YT Lion Channel" for quite a few years now, and, I've always been very impressed by your close, loving, respectful relationship with these majestic beings. I intensely adore big AND little felines of all kinds myself, so, watching you interact with these beauties is extremely gratifying for me. I have ALSO come to "the conclusion" that YOU had to have been a "Lion" in a past life yourself, mate (I literally SEE a lion's AURAL ENERGY surrounding you) which "accounts for" how you so closely relate to and interact with these "Kings of the Jungle." Thanks for taking the time to share your amazing interaction with these wilderness wonders. Did you manage to check Ginny's nails/claws? I recall you saying that they will do things in their own time. You described it in your book Part of the Pride with Tau and Napoleon. How after a photo shoot for a commercial Tau did not want to get back into the truck because he had a sore paw and you stayed behind with him after everyone else had left until he was ready.

It still amazes me that people are so quick to jump to any conclusion that fits their narrative in life, especially about a place that is doing nothing more than creating a quality of life for animals that would otherwise die in a zoo, or be shot in the wild, die of starvation etc because they have no idea how to live without human help and could not integrate into a pride or clan. People are ultimately consummate ball-breakers when they spot someone who does what Kevin does...it just amazes me.

i don't believe humans can "totally tamed" wild animals that fast. the domestication of dogs and cats took thousands of years. you get the gist right? the lions in kevin's sanctuary do hunt from time to time when they take a walk in the bigger area. but it's still not enough of skills to release them into the wild.

I dont know if you reply to comments, but i notice you never ever push the lion in, even its tail or foot or something just needs to go in just a few more cm, is it because they will react badly to being pushed or some other reason like they cant be pushed at all not even a foot or anything because they are too strong?
