Every month we always aim go on a ramble with Kevin's Rambles Group (Consider subscribing to his channel or even joining us on a walk) and the venues are always interesting. Today we went to Devil's Dyke near Brighton East Sussex.
Devil's Dyke is a 100 metre deep V-shaped dry valley on the South Downs 5 miles north-west of Brighton and is managed by the National Trust. It is also part of the Beeding Hill to Newtimber Hill Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Join us on this lovely walk where we take in the breath-taking scenery and go for a lovely cappuccino at Saddlescombe Farm. We also visit a 400 year old donkey wheel which was lovely to see, before heading back up the hill for a lovely lunch.

You made our high road look far more intrepid than it was!! Cynthia will be jealous you found the donkey wheel. I love watching all the different videos and seeing everyone's photos to see the day through different eyes. This was a lovely video!

Oh it was intrepid Jean and I'm glad I took the low road 🙂 I'm sure you saw amazing views up there. The Donkey Wheel wasn't hard to find, but a bit muddy getting there, I'm glad we saw it. Yes I know what you mean. I love the different eye views of everyone's photos and videos, we all capture different things which makes it so interesting afterwards. That was lovely Lynn. The blue sky looked amazing! The man getting pulled down the steps by his dog outside the pub made me laugh. I had to rewind that bit twice to watch it again!!

Great company and what a dramatic landscape. Its been a few years since I was last there but the impression never left me. Love the scenes around 6.50 when everyone is walking together above you. And you filmed a dew pond, an old barn, some old farm machinery, and English flag.....and coffee! Damn, what a treat I missed but thanks so much for sharing your day I could almost feel I was just that little bit closer to you all! Ky! What a boy! Love the music.

Thanks so much for your kind words Andrew and it's a shame you weren't with us all. When I was filming the farm scenes I said to Andrew (Murphy) Andrew will love this! Oh yes, where there's mud there's Ky, he's a one for sure 🐶 and he's living his best life, that's what I care about. Another lovely video Lynn, looked like a lovely walk. It made me realise though how long it is since we've been up to Devil's Dyke, the farm was completely different, the pub has had a refurb. We used to walk up there a fair bit and eat there as well. In fact I think the last time we ate there must have been a celebration meal when I finished my last exam in Brighton, on my degree which must have been mid 00s.

Thanks for watching Kerry and your kind words, it was indeed a lovely walk on such a lovely day; so lucky. Yes, the farm has changed quite a bit and lots to see in the barn and all around, so interesting. Our friends used to run the pub, but that was a very long time ago, before the 00's, it's changed a lot. The food was nice and the staff very friendly. Of course Ky was welcome and there were actually a lot of dogs in there, which was nice to see. All on their best behaviour. Hope to see you on the next walk? 🥰

Hi Lynn Richard and Ky first of all what a fabulous day with lovely sunshine. The views are fantastic and from all angles wonderful, those hand gliders must have had even more fantastic views from up there. Ky really enjoyed the muddy puddle good job he was a bit cleaner by the time you got to the pub. Loved the music Lynn. My granddaughter is going up in a balloon flight next month she is really looking forward to that. Thankyou for a fantastic video Lynn really injoyed it , see you on the next one xx❤

Hi Fiona, Glad you enjoyed watching the video, we all had a lovely time, but it was a shame Kevin was poorly and wasn't able to be there. The views are stunning, and yes, imagine what they see from the hand gliders, it must be incredible. Your grand-daughter will love her flight I bet, it's something I want to do one day too; lucky girl. Oh Ky loves a muddy puddle 😆 I swear he can smell them a mile off! Have you got plans for Easter? xx
