This is, hands down, my favorite episode. You two are hilarious together. The quick wit and willingness to dive into the silliness is fantastic. This was the dopiest smart episode I’ve seen. Love it so much.
"the thanksgiving table?" really solidifies my belief that Pete Holmes is one of the greats. Out of left field, clever as hell, and then he dies laughing at his own joke? Absolute gold. Absolute pure gold.
This is one of my favorite episodes of this podcast. I forgot how funny and playful Kevin Smith is. I love the silly episodes and this one was great and I did have the thought that these two should have a podcast. So many comedians have multiple podcasts with different people, these two should really do it.
I worked as a mailman for 10 years and I swear to god, I had Kevin in my ears for tens of thousands of hours. He saved my sanity walking marathons every day during Northern Canadian winters. Kevin Smith and his producing partner, Scott Mosier, pioneered podcasting with their "Smodcast" and were some of the first people to enter the new medium. Do yourself a favour and listen to some of the episodes. Scott is hyper intelligent, dry, sardonic, sarcastic, and above all else hysterically funny and works as the perfect foil to Kevin's high energy stream of consciousness. The best dynamic duo since Batman and Robin. The Smodcast episode "Emo Kev" is a later episode, but is a bust a gut funny introduction to the podcast and I suggest looking it up on RU-vid. Check it out.
Same! It got me laughing way harder than the typical comedy podcasts. It has so many good jokes on the side, both brains working their ass off to find and put the next wordplay, insider or else to words in a silly manner. Comedy gold right here with Pete 2 Holmes and the pediadentrist(?) of Kevin or Pete or Kevin or… 🤯🤷🏻♂️💎🤣🤣🤣
This episode is hands down, one of the best ever! And it benefits sooo much from being filmed; moments like Pete throwing a pillow at Kevin, Kevin's face pretending to be Val lying in bed while Pete tells her for the millionth time about entertaining Ben Affleck at a party, and Kevin's flinching while acting as David "Flinch"ner! Unbelievably good!!! By the way, @2:38:35 you can prove to him that he opens the can @49:55.
Hands down one of the most entertaining and legitimately heartwarming podcast episodes ever. It is WILD that y'all haven't done this before, your chemistry is just perfect, I'd have guessed you were childhood friends. Thanks for the good time, so many smiles that I definitely needed. 🙂
@@jeanniemaycrawford4466 Yes, I realize this. What I am saying is that Pete is the type of guy that leads with love and compassion. Being hateful at all is a direct contradiction to the mountains of wonderful spiritual teachings provided over the years of this podcast.
@@calebabbott4913 Most people don’t care about that. They want something to hate and simply talk shit about. It’s what the internet is for. Do I agree with it ? No. But it’s almost human nature to concentrate on the negative things that exist or even that are delusions. But it’s definitely hypocritical to come in with such vitriol when it goes completely against what this podcast is about .
Not gonna lie, this video was a shot in the dark. Never really known anything about Pete Holmes, only known about Kevin Smith. Watched this video and I was glad that I watched. It was 05:45 AM when I finished. Greetings from Brazil.
Damnit I just found this, my mind is seriously blown right now. Kevin is my man, as is Pete. Looking forward to these next 2 hrs Edit: Ok almost 3 hrs Edit again: This is why I want Kevin to be in all the things
Hands down best episode. I wish it was twice as long. Loved Kevin reminiscing about laughing hard on Smodcasts. My fave Smod ep is Smith and Mosier laughing about Aquaman. It’s hilarious beyond words. You guys are both a gift!!!
I'm an almost life long atheist, but, I can totally relate to the story Kevin tells about the church moment. I left my home and was abandoned in Ohio when I was 15. Before that, I was used to taking care of my little sisters. I went through a super dark time after they were gone and I was alone. During one of my lowest, most suicidal times, my grandmother, who had been dead for 3 or 4 years by then spoke to me in my head. She told me that some time very soon, there were going to be people who need me and I had to stay for them. A few months later, I met my wife. I was 19, she was 22 and her kids were 2 and 5. Now, she's 45, I'm 42, and they are 28, 25, and we have a 19 year old.
I don't know but I'm pretty sure these two sitting like this could take over the carpool singing dude. No need to change the format. 94.69% this format would fly at 12am EST. Kevin I have hundreds of hours with online... Pete Holmes has not been let loose yet and needs to be let loose. I'll die on this hill guys. Excellent content 11/11.
Blake Griffin, Maya Rudolph, Tig Notaro, Sarah SIlverman, Conan, both Key AND Peele, Jon Hamm, theoretical physicist Brian Greene,... Jack Johnson, Jimmy Kimmel, Mark Paul Gosselar (zack morris), Pete Davidson, Jerrod Carmichael, Ellie Kemper, Gary Shandling, Dave Attel...
I love Pete Holmes and I love Kevin Smith. This podcast episode is probably my favorite in terms of comedy I've ever seen. I think the two of these men bantering is my idea of heaven on Earth, if heaven exists.
This is the most fun I've had listening to Kevin in years. Love the guy, but he's become pretty low-key and his earnest side has really taken over recently. It was great to hear him being silly again. Reminded me of how funny he can be.
I'm semi convinced that this conversation led to Kevin's breakdown. Very much a person who did a ton of therapy (Pete) talking so someone (Kev) who was not experienced in delving into those thoughts in that manner.
I just watched this for the first time and holy fucking shit they should absolutely start a podcast together. This became so chaotic and weird and I loved it.
Pete, I absolutely love everything you're doing. Especially love this episode with Kevin. If you read these comments, please tell me how I can purchase (or even watch) The Pete Holmes Show. I don't care if the format is free hand on used toilet paper (though I'd rather it be blu-ray). Please help a pasty white brother out!!!! Keep it up. We are watching!!!!
his youtube channel has all the relevant parts of the show there, theyre just not assembled. theres a full playlist of the monologues and of a bunch of the ongoing sketches like Ex-Men, Street Fighter Red Tape, and all the Batman stuff
For a moment when Pete brought up Homer I was picturing Homer the Iliad and the Odyssey and now I can't get the image of an acient greek poet stuck in a vending machine
Kevin Fucking Smith! Awesome. And on behalf of horses, thanks for telling folks that they don't want to be ridden or rodeoed or pull carriages or ... oh wait you just said ridden. But the rest follows. Looking good, fellas. Good show.
What a great guy. Kevin Smith really does have it all. You can tell how intelligent he is. He's very kind, witty, and he can be both introverted and extroverted. Such a cool character. Pete and Kevin vibe really well and this was a great podcast. Just want to offer gratitude to both of you for being vegan and speaking about it. It's such an important subject that needs to stop being so taboo. Undoubtedly, us as individuals do not make a whole lot of impact but collectively it does ADD up. Being vegan is one of the best ways to help the planet, animals, and your own health. 💚🍃🌎🌏🌍🌈
People sometimes think faith and basing what they believe or not believe on what makes sense is different from each other. Everything can make sense. I opt for direct experience. I don't need to believe or not believe.
I've been a Wierdo for a long time, and Kevin Smith might be the best match for Pete's energy ever. Cheers to both of these guys for some top notch goofing-off
