Not only is he a gifted impressionist, but he’s genuinely spontaneously funny. One of the best actors ever. I just love his great craft. Given me a lot
Well, we better destroy the chemist, the butcher, the cold parent whose kid gets suicidal, the local corner bar pianist, and domineering mother whose destructiveness to generations and yet so beautifully hidden unlike the hapless movie stars who are visible when to everyone when they do bad things. People are doing destructive things everywhere. Most as never seen and as such are more deadly. People have always done bad things. And my comment was about he has given me. He’s given me so much through his acting. And mate- it’s not like we don’t know about the other business. It’s public knowledge. You’re not adding something I , like, ‘forgot’ because I’m mentally deficient or blind, right? Of course I know that. I’m not stupid. And I don’t live under a rock or in deserted island- of course. I’m an adult and don’t need to be told what’s in the news of course. My father came on to me sexually. My father nearly killed me once in his mad work obsession with trucks- the bloody truck just missed me. Mad dry drunk alcoholic. My father loved me, built me a home (or I’d be homeless now, because my own addictions left me bankrupt). He chased me around drug dens, he went to bat for me in court, he looked after my poor animals when my wretched addiction robbed me of any decent capacity,- and they would have died horribly otherwise. My father left me legacies I’m only now- at the age of sixty- beginning to really understand. I have so many practical skills, and so much ability that’s not around people today , to be resilient and not take things do personally- this all came from his example and his energy. I have a rich history of stories from him. I have the ability not to have to have people address me perfectly perfectly politically correctly, and not get upset- stuff just rolls off, and I don’t need to dislike people just because I’m believing I’m‘triggered’ by everything. I’m not. That’s freedom. It all comes from my old man. That’s just the edge of it. He was a complex man. Addicted. Sexually wrong, loving, driven, helpful, and funny. ( And a showman by the way - bought joy to thousands). Like so many people, he did buckets bad and buckets good. When it isn’t the topic, drawing attention away from a compliment and an expression of gratitude, to darkness, is to drag me -also - away from my joy. It’s like I’m having a lovely moment with an ice cream, and someone will drag me aside and say: “But remember when you were miserable, remember the bad’ and knock the ice cream to the ground. It is I, who you are pulling down here. Go back and read my comment- and you will note that it did not express an opinion on Kevin’s sins. It expressed my own joy in the present ongoing, as a result of his works. This a current personal experience. Is it somehow magically not a real thing? If a victim of a person’s sexual behaviours speaks up, and shared what us harmed in themselves due to his behaviour, you would listen, and spread the word, it seems. Right? Ok. Well, if I speak up and share what is good and in my world due to Kevin’s works, which would not have happened without him, why is it that I am ignored? Why do I not count, then? Obviously I don’t.
Well, that’s not really deep mate. It doesn’t really SAY anything. At least I know that I put personal experience and complexity of my life, and my reasons, -and an honest expose - in my comment. I didn’t just insult the person who I challenged. I put work into it. Put my soul into it. I can at least rest in that
And - we’re supposed to open UP dialogue. To add. To broaden each other. Challenge perhaps. Disagree sometimes or agree. But from experience. And with depth. Not a ‘rating’ . That’s not real. It’s not an effort, and it doesn’t put your heart or mind on the line, you know? We’re all in this together- were supposed to be expanding each other’s knowledge. Not just ‘good’ or ‘ adding’. That’s not a real relating to other people. It but cowardly, mate. Bit cheap, you know? Lazy, you know. It doesn’t bring anything to the table. If you shared your experiences there would be something added here. But you haven’t. I put in my experience in. My complex life experiences. You can’t really argue against experience. Because it isn’t a simple opinion or mental idea. Opinions come and go. Mine do. I have one opinion one year, and another the next. If we grow, that’s what happens. But experience- that doesn’t change. If you want to share your life experience, that’ll be great. May be different from mine. But a put down opinion - it’s not good enough mate. And it’s not gonna bring people out of thier shell, to learn more together. It’s sort of just an emptiness. God knows there’s enough of that on the net.
I think it's a testament to Kevin Spacey's genuine ability and genius that he's the only one whom I've heard people to urge 'separate-art-from-artist' for. Most others taken down and outed by metoo was never missed, their art and acheivements disappeared with them. But Spacey's legacy as an artist has long endured after.
As an aspiring actor who considers Spacey at one point my idol , its really hard looking back at that period of time where I revered him but damn it's hard to deny he really is a master of his craft. He had naturalism down to a T.
@@roadrunneruntd speaking of the play on words of master of his craft, i bought his masterclass before he got canceled and have yet to do it. good luck bud
That because Al Pacino has been performing a bad impression of himself for decades. If you watch him closely, he had two or three things he relies on to get by. It’s the same thing Will Smith has done his entire career
Probably in my opinion only the best impersonator that I've ever seen in my life and I'm an old man now. His movements his facial expressions and so much to the voice impersonation, So many impersonators lack that ability
@@CipherSerpico 😂 I'll bet you have passed that experience in your childhood! . However the professional people are distant the personal life from their professional career, and kevin as a actor is a magnificent actor, difinatly Hollywood lost his talents. We are here talking about his acting field..we are not here to discuss about the personal life's of the people. I am 100% sure your personal life is more horrible than Kevin Spacey!
He is such a brilliant actor man, I really hope he gets back to it. Those allegations, even if he did them, don't erase the fact he is just a brilliant actor. Too bad he never hooked up with Tarantino. The potential of those 2 heads together, is scary as hell :D
great stufff. unreal how he hit everyone on the button.... such great stuff and laughter. love people who have the art of impersonating great people. its not easy
@@boxeolocopunch762 indeed. The Brando, Gielgud, Walken, and Pacino ones were just classic, on target, and deeply funny. Just like the others in this clip.
It’s so sad Kevin was one of the first men accused, convicted by the public, and eliminated when there was one accusation against him. THEN the guy retracts it all!! A brilliant, talented, funny man was ruined. When he was on ACTORS STUDIO a young man in the audience told him how he loved and practiced a scene Kevin had done in GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS. Kevin sat on that stage and did the scene with him!! How many years had it been since he had said that dialogue? He said it like he had done the show the night before. I miss Kevin. But hypocritical Hollywood won’t take him back. Would the theater world? Would the audience? I would. He’s too talented to have lost.
it's a complicated situation for sure. I was not there, I assume you weren't either. I have a problem with #Metoo zealotry, though I get the need for it. again, it's complicated.
He wasn't one of the first men to be accused, yet one of the first gay men to be accused.. only coming out in a plea for sympathy. Don't get me wrong I think he is an incredible actor and hilarious impressionist. No plaintiffs have retracted their case against him as of two days ago in online news, so.... Sad situation whatever the truth
Dana Carvey does the best Johnny Carson and Kevin Pollak does the best Christopher Walken but Spacey does a pretty good Pacino and his Jimmy Stewart wasn’t half bad, either.
Like 1999 or maybe early 2000? Both American Beauty and his performance on Broadway in The Iceman Cometh were referenced as "recent" in this episode; both happened in 1999.
