I think there is a clip of hogan and warrior talking behind the scenes at wrestlemania 30 the night after warrior was inducted in to the hall of fame. It appears or maybe it was just for the cameras that they buried the hatchet before warrior died.

Backstage at Wrestlemania 30, Warrior and Hogan shook hands and they did appear to reconcile their differences. This was captured on film and was in the Ultimate Warrior documentary, entitled Warrior: The Ultimate Legend.

Warrior also said Hogan was the sole person complaining about his promos & "going over his head," yet here Sullivan is calling Warrior's ramblings insane, going over time limit, missing cues, & being limited in ring. So pretty sure many other guys in the locker room probably felt similar things about Warrior in WCW. Clearly, Hogan had his ego, but Warrior also had his & couldn't accept his own shortcomings.

A lot of people talk bad about Warrior's WCW debut promo and it always made me confused because I watched it live and remembered it being awesome. So I watched it again not long ago and it was how I remembered it. Even if it went a little long it doesn't feel like it at all. Seeing Warrior after all that time was insane. The crowd and ratings prove it. It was like seeing a ghost or seeing a relative or someone you were really close with and haven't seen them since you were a kid. It had a crazy vibe to it. It was exciting it had energy and he didn't just rant and rave like a lunatic. It was Warrior being Warrior. The crowd was into it the whole time as was I watching it live and watching it years later. If you haven't watched it I suggest you do. WCW lost out big by not using him more or in the right way and by not making him a main part of the show. Also a lot of people talk bad about his promos or will say he made no sense and just talked crazy. It was a big part of what got him over and made him memorable. He used a lot of anologies/similies/metaphors with tons of energy and intensity. It really isn't that hard to follow or understand what he is saying.

RIP Warrior and RIP Randy ! Two of the greats regardless of warriors in ring work. Warrior was super over in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Short lived by the guy was O V E R. The arenas would erupt when his music hit and he came through the curtain. There is only a handful of people who got that kind of pop when they came through the curtains. Just watched the Savage steamboat matches from back in the day. Arena packed fans on there feet screaming. I haven’t seen that in any recent WWE matches the electricity and excitement

@@BuJammy Oh, I don't think I'm a genius; I'm very much a regular guy. However, when conversing with the average wrestling fan, having a modicum of intelligence sometimes makes me feel like a genius. My post above was addressed to one specific person, the original commenter. This person felt that Sullivan's highly critical assessment of Warrior's promos was brilliant, presumably because he felt the same way. Viewing Warrior's approach with derision necessitates _not_ grasping that he fully intended to come off as a bit loony. The problem with Warrior in WCW had nothing to do with his general approach to promos. Rather, it had to do with WCW's chronic inability to make the most of the talent they attracted (save for the NWO), something both Eric Bischoff and Tony Schiavone have lamented over the years. In the case of Warrior's promos, they allowed him too much freedom; they simply went on too damn long. Bischoff has admitted to not being a natural wrestling creative like McMahon, and Tony Schiavone observed that there was a major difference in the competence of the enormous well-oiled wrestling machine working behind McMahon and the discombobulated employees that Bischoff had to manage. And of course, it didn't help that Hogan had a high degree of creative control baked into his contract.

3:30 Warrior said in an interview that the biggest issue he had with WCW was the lack of leadership and haphazard way things were run, including the matches. He said that Bishoff was hardly around & would only show up 90 minutes before the show went on, then immediately took off as soon as it was over. He also said that he tried to get Hogan to plan out the match with him several times & hogan just kept putting it off.

Warrior actually carried hogan through that match!! Hogan was moving in slow motion and Warrior was taking extra bounces off the ropes to allow Hogan time to get up! You can see warrior telling Hogan what to do next after he made a mess of the fire cracker to the face!! Warrior doesn’t get any credit! He was strong as a bull and his energy was contagious! I hope one day an unbiased documentary is done on Hogan,his politicking,his title reigns,who he made and who he buried. In one respect,you cannot fault Hogan for maintaining his position on the card. As a top guy,you’re goal should be to remain as such...HOWEVER by the philosophy of many wrestling historians,the goal should also be to put over and make new talent. Who did Hogan ever make? The match with Warrior at WM is constantly referenced because it’s literally the inkling of him making a “new” talent. One could say Goldberg in the Georgia Dome but not Bret Hart,not Shawn Michaels,really not even Undertaker...at least Flair made Sting,Luger,Steamboat.

The sole purpose of Warrior coming to WCW was just so Hogan could get his win back, no matter how many times Bischoff denies it. What was so perplexing about Hogan and Warrior was that you had these two men whose egos were almost the same size. You have Hogan who just can't let go of the past and wants to rectify it and you have Warrior who just didn't give a fuck what Hogan wanted to do. At least Savage and Piper swallowed their pride and worked with Hogan. Warrior wanted to do anything but work with Hogan, and it shows in that Havoc match. Warrior just did not give a fuck, no selling Hogan's offense, purposely trying to make him look stupid. And then you have Hogan who really didn't care how the match went, just as long as he won. And their egos got so huge that it took time away from DDP and Goldberg which half of that match got cut from the PPV feed and WCW not only had to air that entire match for free the next night on Nitro, but had to refund money to customers who purchased the PPV. Hogan and Warrior really fucked over WCW that day. One of the MANY times Hogan fucked over WCW because of his ego.

BenjaminAlexander44 actually u right because Hogan vs rock in 2002 was a classic at wrestlemania but Hogan had great matches in wcw especially the one with sting at starrcade 97 classic I don't think was the timing of the match it was Hogan didn't wanna put into time into it warrior said that in a interview

It would be an illegitimate Hall of Fame, if the Macho Man had not been inducted. I have NEVER liked Hogan, but even if he lied about making peace with Macho Man, I see WHY he did it. He wanted people to look on Macho and Hulk, both fondly and not remember the bitterness between them. If Randy HAD died on good terms with Hulk, that gives fans of both men something to be happy about. I admire Hulk for doing that, whether or not it actually IS true.

Hogan & Flair strikes me as both egotistical pricks at times. I guess both believe that pro wrestling belongs to them. I like Warrior. Why? Warrior came into a transitional stage when the old timers (Hogan & Flair) needed to bow out gracefully. It's tough. It's like old lions refusing to step aside for upcoming, more talented lions. I don't care personally about either Flair or Hogan. Professional, Hogan an Flair contributed to the business of selling or promoting pro wrestling globally.
@SuperN1ntendoChalmers
@SuperN1ntendoChalmers 6 лет назад
See, this is the thing that marks don't realize. Flair and Hogan sold tickets, sure, but without good opponents, they would have done jackshit for the business. People never calculate Andre, Orndorff, Savage, Earthquake, etc. when they consider Hogan's success. Flair and Hogan lie off of their ass every chance they get to boost their tremendously large egos. The difference between the two is at least Flair put over people for the good of the business. Hogan only did it when he filmed his shitty failures of movies. Look at Hogan from this interview alone and you can see how petty and insecure he is. Fuck Hogan!
@RyanAcidhedzMurphy
@RyanAcidhedzMurphy 6 лет назад
See, I know you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.. Warrior was born in 59, Hogan in 53 and Flair in 49. You're acting like Warrior was twenty fucking years younger than either of them, or something. Warrior was shit, and as soon as the kids grew up (well, clearly you didn't...) and the cartoon era was done, so was he. Not to mention the fact that Flair was never like Hogan. He lost clean anytime he was needed to. You're a fucking mark.

Just from observing both of their true characters(tho I don’t know them personally) I get the vibe that Macho was a handshake deal kinda guy and his word was his bond but Hogan is someone who will give you his word but undercut/politic you at the very last minute. I think Macho knew he had to be “friends” with the top guy in order to get where he needed to but between Linda/Hulk harboring Liz during their divorce and Savage being positioned as kind of a place holder for Hogan at times,he just saw Hulk for who he was...a co-worker,not a friend.

Hogan understands it's a work, right? Nobody in 1998, or in 1990, looked at wrestling as this real sport, with real bad asses, except for young children and maybe a few not so intelligent adults. But it's a show, it can be a good show, but that doesn't make it any less of a show. This reminds me of the situation in the first Expendables movie, where Jean-Claude Van Damme didn't want to do it because Stallone had written him too lose a fight to Jet Li, and Van Damme didn't think that was cool. So they cut the role down significantly and had Gary Daniels lose to both Jet Li and Jason Statham.

You should believe Hogan on his take regarding making up with Warrior at Wrestlemania because it did indeed happen; albeit Hogan essentially ambushed Jim at a time when he def knew Warrior would be in a very weakened physical state and hence zero threat or chance of an altercation (our real American hero is the biggest gd pssy ever man) and he ensured that Nick was with him also, I guess in some pseudo attempt to defend the family honor? Yeah real nice Terry, but you absolutely knew what the deal was there huh brother? That interview he gave regarding how he found out about Jim’s death with Vince informing him…ugh it’s so transparent it’s unreal

It's annoying to hear wrestlers make fun of Warrior for his promos. The strange promo style was a huge part of the character and was very over with the fans. Seems like an easy bone to pick, but it's nonsense. Go watch the few promos that Warrior did in WCW, even after being away for years and in a new company with different fans the crowd was into it.

Love this interview Kevin Sullivan is great this whole Hogan beef with savage warrior piper thing I kind of feel like the piper Hogan thing was different from savage and warrior were as roddy and hulk were able to tolerate each other more I think roddy liked hulk later on in life more he defended him when the racism tape came out Hogan said roddy was one of the first guys to come to his defense then in a strange way roddy passes on him dusty Rhodes and curt henning dying are the three that got me those baffled me ive come to respect hulk and I believe he does feel positive about randy and piper when he thinks of them, now randy I think did despise hulk till the day he died warrior I don't think that hulk feels positive about him I think it was an act randy and roddy oddly enough predicted their deaths both never thought theyd live to 65 and they were right just my opinion lol the Hogan warrior match at Halloween havoc was a disaster beyond all wrestling disasters
