Ed Bradley’s HS classmate was Whiteys hit man, he was convicted of 24 murders. John Martorano and Ed went to a private HS together and we’re teammates on the football team. I’m surprised Ed didn’t mention it.
Weeks was a tough guy and loyal enforcer for the Winter Hill gang, but he wasn't a hitman and police have never obtained any real evidence or had serious suspicions that he's killed anybody. My guess is that the story about being across the street from Carr's house with a sniper rifle is partially-true, but also very embellished. He likely went to Howie's house with a gun yes but probably lost his nerve. I've read his book, BRUTAL with Phyllis Karas (would recommend it) and some of the stuff Whitey had him doing was really menial and boring. Whitey had a soft spot for him but he was never his "right hand man". That was Steve Flemmi. Instead Kevin was more a lackey, or little brother. And when the way they almost came to blows in the courtroom adds credence to this, there was always tension hidden beneath the surface with them.
Kevin Weeks valued nothing more than his hardearned meticulous tight jericurl perm hairstyle. He used to wear a motorcycle helmet for awhile after each perm setting, to protect each precious curl during Bulgers torture dungeon roughhouse sessions. Weeks is not, nor never was a killer. Every single guy still alive who was in the streets at that time will tell you the same. Howie knows that because he talked to a whole lot of street guys after everything went down.

John Gotti wasn't known to have murdered anyone but everyone who knew him said he was fully capable of it without a second thought. Especially under Whitey, insisting Weeks couldn't or wouldn't kill comes across as a dumb way to underestimate someone known to hurt people for a living.

I live in Massachusetts, about a 30 minute drive south of Boston and I've heard his radio show many times while driving and I've just never really cared for him. Nothing to do with his political views or beliefs, it's just his personality and the way he comes off.
He didn't. He wasn't gonna start picking up a bodycount beginning with the Howard Stern of Boston AM Radio and city's most wellknown news columnist. That's a level of self sabotage even the Boston Irish mob of yore knew to avoid. Weeks was just having abit of fun engaging in Howie's pro wrestling like theatrics in order to help Carr sell books, a favor I'm sure Carr probably reciprocated somehow during Weeks own authorship and publishing endeavors

Weeks? I don't know if he's still around Southie today in 2022, but if he isn't, its nothing to do with any of the Bulger gang past, as he has been around Southie publicly a lot after he first served his time
