Omg this saved me! You were the only person that mentioned the anti theft. And that was my problem. My key fob said not detected and wouldn’t start with the fob to start button backup. But I had no idea about the security anti theft lock system. It started right up once I unlocked my car with my fob. So thank you so much!!!

I replaced battery in key fob and it still won’t start and still says key fob not detected. And when I tried to start the wiper turned on but not the car. Any suggestion or clues
Wow. My Malibu 2018 just did this exact thing, the fob would unlock lock. Went to RU-vid and you’re the first video that popped up. Now I can leave for work…thank you!!!!!

This totally saved me today! Thank you Miranda! You rock! 💪🚙 Any advice when you’ve replaced the battery a couple times with different new batteries and you’re still getting the “Key fob not detected” message?
My issue is I can start by pressing the start button like you show, but shouldn’t have to. Truck is susposed to detect keyfob. Changed keyfob batteries too.
Oh my goodness this was a life saver. It 1:26pm and I’ve been stuck in advanced auto parts parking lots with the “key not detected error. Could start the car, unlock the doors nothing worked and this simple thing saved my life. My kids were in the car and we are in the coldest weekend in the northeast. It’s was close to 30 struggling until I stumbled across this video. Than you so much. God bless you!!
Doesn’t worked for me … I think my batteries are fine but somehow it still shows key fob not detected.. I tried your trick but was unable to start the car.. I can lock and unlock the car but can’t start it as it shows the same message again and again … can you still guide me?
My wife’s 2019 Cherokee just had this same problem … she had to get out of the car lick it then unlock it with the remote then use the key fob to start it … thanks
My 2020 Ram 3500, spare key fob is dead, I replaced the battery in it 3x, still nothing, wont unlock doors etc. Suggestions? My primary fob works normal. Does these get DE-programmed from not using?
I'd try taking the tip of the key fob and pressing to the start button as well. It should re-sync. If it still doesn't work, it may be defective and you should probably see a Chrysler service dept.
My renegade key fob has a new name brand battery now! ( never use generic batteries!)... Only issue I have now is the automatic rear wiper: does not turn off when it's not raining, so I just leave it off.
@@ClawBoss turns out my new battery didn't last very long! (A month) Now I use name brand batteries, Only one LED for the reverse light (never got around switching back) but had it long before the issue.
also i found if you have your cell phone in the same pocket as your key fob, it wont work either. i had this happen, now i make sure they are in separate pockets
The only problem with using the key to get in is the horn alarm goes off and if this trick doesn’t work, put your ear plugs in while waiting for the tow truck.
I replaced my key battery still said key not detected. Went to store in other vehicle comeback and now there is no power at all to the vehicle. Put jumper cables on it and still no power. Any ideas
