thanks for this video! it convinced me to switch to binds and even tho it felt a little weird at first, within a few games it already started feeling more natural and I felt like I had way more control over my swings. I really see the huge difference it makes to be able to just lock on an enemy and just focus on looking at him instead of having to worry about making slight mouse movements to get the right strike in. This also helps me keep a better eye around my surroundings and lets me easily pick off enemies on the edge of my screen I normally wouldn't be able to hit with the 240 system.
Wow, how are you able to do such long drags? Your camera movement during attacking/Windup is so much faster than mine. I thought I am already as fast as possible, since I use my mouse gently
Its hard for me to compare it because i havent seen what your pov looks like. Drags are long due to turning as much away from the swing direction as possibe.
I just started but imho, you gotta follow your muscle constitution. Even if you strayed from proper posture and form, we should consider the shapes we form with our fingers and feel what gives less tension. If you just go at it ignoring the small adjustments that can be made, you might have heart problems like me. I'm still trying to figure out what keybinds works for me using this as a reference
I don't have the mental capacity to remember all these keyinds... Maybe when I learn the game better, but godamn XD An excellent video, explained very well.
i dontT get the whole sprinting thing, is there a time not to sprint? (besides regenerating hp) So when to sprint and more important when not to? Otherwiese you could just bind it to w and sprint all the time?!
If you double binded sprint to w you wouldn’t be able to walk/heal forwards and yes movement without sprinting is important although sprinting is very important as well. See what works for you I’d recommend keeping spring and w separate.
@@M1stFink In duels, sprinting in the middle of a fight stops your stamina regen, as well. You will lose a stam game if the other player is playing defensively and conserving their stamina as much as possible.
Thank you for the vid KNGHTS! I've Been a long time "feint or parry" button player. Is there a major advantage in using them on two separate binds? I find it kinda hard to get it out of habit.
I'm watching this video to try and find my keybind setup I'll be using, and I can't lie to you, I really wish there was an "upper strike" and "lower strike" modifier, so that, while holding said button, right and left strikes would turn into upper right and upper left, same with lower strikes. There's a flip side modifier, wish there was upper and lower as well.
240 is the default attack scheme that relies on mouse movement To determine attack direction. Switching to keybinds allows for the pressing of a key to determine the angle of attack. Hope that helps :)
Super informative and cool to see how other people like to play. I don't think I have enough buttons to bind everything but one day I'll have to give this a go. Till then I'll be a 240 boi goofin' around spanking people with my sword. Keep up the great work man!
Either the g pro or death adder should get the job done neither have excessive buttons but deathadder has good thumb buttons and GoPro is just a good bare bones mouse. Both pretty cheap. If you can’t swap to binds 240 is good enough but it helps you understand weapon timing if you understand binds.
@@KNGHTS thanks a bunch, i'll be sure to check em out. And i really want to start using binds, cuz both my drags and accels are pretty weak and when trying to chamber or hit from a spesific place i can just mess it up and take a hit for it, or appeat to be a gambler. Binds are just way superior.
I have 200 hours on the game and do a lot of things almost on auto pilot, flick a bit to the left before doing a left strike still, it's going to take a while to shake these little habits. Difficult to adjust to having 2 binds for all types of attacks, I bound underhand strikes to q and e and got the hang of those almost immediately but mwheeldown + mwheel for overheads is going to take me a while to get used to
everything is ok but switch axis attack feels delayed so not help us much us posible however i bind capslock to my left strike and its faster way to use left strike :) mouse wheeldown is my lower right stirke, wheelup mouse is my upper right strike. and kick is still on F . And 240 stab ofc . So yea i wish switch axis attack on alt works faster without delay it will helps to use to switch axis and use it in combat . I miss my left upper strike and l lelt lower strike but it's still fine i get diamond rank with using only right side attacks so it's no so bad xD
Just a tip about explaining VSync and FPS: - VSync introduce inherit input lag, always... If you are talking about "miliseconds matters" then you should turn it off - If you want to play with VSync (because of tearing, which is valid argument), you should do that in NVidia settings for game (because it is always better to set it up in driver settings than in game itself) + set up on Prefer maximum performance and go from Quality to Performance (it have no impact on graphic of the game, but GPU will increase its "power" basically) - VSync will match your monitor's frequency with game FPS (with some corrections which introduce that little input lag) - so set up some custom FPS on slider is (or should be) useless, because VSync should overrite this option So in short VSync ON - will automatically lock your game FPS to your monitor freq -> introduce small input lag -> should be no tearing VSync OFF - set up your frames on slider to be slighty under your monitor frequency to not cause big tearing when it is going over your monitor freq - no input lag
can i just say you are the only mordhau youtuber to have given me true helpful advise and i love it. earned my sub. and i hope this video earns you much more
How am I supposed to stretch my hand in order to press all the keys? That’s the reason I don’t feint, I basically can’t press Enough buttons at the same time.
Outside of the game In my mouse software I use binds on my mouse that are buttons that I would never usually press in game that way I don’t accidentally click it on the keyboard. I use ][ but you could use a letter or anything you’d like. As for binding a lower strike that can be done in the game settings keybinds in my case I selected my mouse buttons so that appear as (][) in the game settings but they are actually my mouse buttons. Hope that answers your question.
I have basically 2 mouse buttons and 2 side mouse buttons my mouse's dpi buttons don't work as yours and my mouse wheel does move as such but mordau doesn't see it do so lol. Suggestions?
So the problem i keep having with trying to bind my mouse keys is that if im pressing shift to sprint it wont let me use any of the keybinds for whatever reason, do you have a workaround by any chance?
Well the 240 stab is better due to the 4 bonus animation variants but if you want stab binds with alt. Unbind stab then bind it to right stab and hold alt for left
@@KNGHTS Sorry, I meant was... is there a way to have the 4 animations like 240, but the left and right attacks be bound with alt? So only having to look up and down for the 2 animations, and then holding alt to flip sides
I keep my stab binded, due to the fact that i completely forget about the 240 mechanic so if I want to morph from a stab to a left strike, I wont be able to do that if my 240 stab is on the right side.
I'm at my wit's end, i have a ryzen 2600, an overclocked 2070, and 16gb of ram. i struggle to get 144fps on larger maps, while the game is only using like 50% of both my cpu and gpu. wtf is going on
Holy shit brother sorry to hear that. So first off I had an i5 8400 and it wasnt handling things that great until I turbo boosted it. Mordhau is a pretty CPU thirsty. That 2600 processer should be good enough but it isnt on tier with the 2070. Try watching a video on how to unpark cpu cores like quick cpu incase thats the issue. Make sure you arent running background apps such as other game platforms like origin or rgb software. Check thermals maybe set an aggressive fan curve in bios. What is your ram clock speed? Make sure you have XMP enabled in bios. Consider tweaking graphics settings as i mentioned in the video. Maybe watch lowering ping tutorials but first do an internet speed test the one by okla or whatever. I've noticed that the servers have been questionable lately like i have 1000gigz up/down and fmy stutters come from the internet. Also make sure you are hard wired. Make sure all GPU drivers are updated. Not sure if you can turbo a r5 2600 but consider it. Lastly check the bios date and see what the new bios offers and flash your bios if necessary. Be careful and watch a tutorial on it for your specific motherboard. Hope something might have helped boss.
Also 144 fps is pretty normal. As I said in the video if your on 144hz than cap it at 143 or 144. Also even with a 2070 mordhau is one of those games where you would flux between 120-200
It's cause they optimized it for Ryzen like shit. I have gtx 1080 and Ryzen 1600 - it's about 80 fps in Frontline with the CPU intensive settings turned on low. That's because the gpu usage is about 70%. I hoped they'd fix it eventually but it feels like they just gave up on us Ryzen users
My best bet is put your gpu on boost lock if your software has it, on some of the more intensive maps i get 100-120 fps on high/ultra settings on a ryzen 9 3900x and slightly ocd 2080 super
Where you point you mouse and press lmb that determines what strike and what side it comes from. 240 is based off the 240 degree angle in all directions that your sword can swing while stationary. So kinda like this < but more and 3d . Binds controls everything without mouse movement allowing mouse movement througnout the whole phase to control the swing manipulation.
No offense, but a lot of this is spoken like someone who hasn't accustomed to 240 and only ever run binds. I've used only 240 since release and I can confidently say it really is not that hard to control what attack you want to do. Accels are still very easy to do at max speed, as it takes an extremely small movement to determine direction. I never understood anybody's logic on this concept. The ONLY time 240 has any difference between binds is on the beginning of the attack, so if you put in the muscle memory of just quickly inputting a direction (literally milliseconds) before continuing with whatever you were doing, your attack is exactly the same as that of a bind player. This whole argument is nearly identical to: "I am accustomed to a mouse that weighs X amount, therefore a mouse that weighs Y amount is worse, and you are clearly disadvantaging yourself by not using mouse X." It has no bearing on absolutely anything besides what your muscle memory is.
hey man, thanks for your feedback. for the record i have about 350+ hours on 240. Dont really get where your going with the mouse weight seems like an indirect analogy. (if you are happy with 240, then don't change it!) My claims for why binds are better than 240. 1) less inputs and less of a need for mouse dictation which is an added load to ones mental dexterity. For example the added need to input a mouse movement separate from a mouse swing movement separate from all of the button and key inputs. I'm not saying its impossible to manage but please explain the advantage to having to input that initial mouse movement, no matter how micro the movement is. 2) very often during 1vx you need to swing from the left for example as much and as fast as possible, meanwhile you are turning right/clockwise. 240 requires you to turn in the same direction as the attack side halting any sort of max turn. 3) if a player notices you are on 240 they can read you like a book. (not any player, good players) good things about 240 4) screen instability, preventing clear reads. often at the beginning of windup is when you need clarity to assure you are'nt gambling or swinging outside of initiative 1) its very user friendly 2) chambers are easy (chambers are as good if not better with binds if you learn timings and have localized specific binds) 3) stabs have more and better animations 4) you can still be good enough at the game to compete but the best players use binds so Dorito I hope to have gotten across why i consider binds the favored scheme at a higher level. if you care to explain why you disagree feel free to.
A lot of good players use that scheme. Its a good one. My brain just conflicts when having directional and binds that do the same thing in certian areas.
240 is the default attack scheme that relies on mouse movement To determine attack direction. Switching to keybinds allows for the pressing of a key to determine the angle of attack. Hope that helps :)
Does someone here know the issue about having on the right side of the screen a highping chain and a disconnect kinda symbol? EVERY time I get this (which is 1-2 times per Minute; so way too often) I kinda get disconnected from the Server. Everyone is walking for 1 or 2 Seconds in a straight line (as if you would get a disconnect; like in other games) and I get teleported a little forth or a little back. My swings go through every player without hitting them. Is there a way to fix it? I reinstalled Steam and Mordhau, flashed my DNS and did other things like verifying my game data. Nothing seems to fix it. I have 400k Internet which is stable the whole time. I don't know how to fix it anmore. Its so frustating since the game is basically unplayable. I would appreciate it a lot if someone could help me
Check the tack manager performance while playing by right clicking the task bar going to manager and performance tab. That should tell you what piece of hardware/internet is struggeling.
@@krabby4456 and i reached global in cs much quicker when i got my 144hz monitor saying 60hz is fine is kind of ignorant to the fact that 144 and above is way superior
@@MrTriple3D what monitor are you runnning ive been looking into 144 but dont want to spend a lot of money, ya im not saying 60 is amazing but its good enough and you still can reach some pretty high skill levels with it
When it asks you would you like to disable primary spectator action from LMB you have to press no. As for the emotes, should work as long as they are bound
@@certifiedgamer961 read them super closely. My game just reset everything after a crash and I remember most things but for the emote binds I always copy pasta from this vid and it works fine. Just dont unbind other actions, read the little popups. 1-8 can be bound to many different things so just line them up closely. Let me know if it works for you.
unfortunately id love to get into mordhau but the games skill curve ruins the experience I don't have the motivation to get better when every fight I die in 1-2 hits by a naked man with a maul. the players don't help either. the salt lvls rival tf2 and overwatch (if that's possible). any attempt at getting better is ruined by the fact the skill curve istoo steep to compete whether you are in a regular match or dueling to "try" to get better. maybe if I played when the game came out but know theres always 2-3 guys that dominate the match and ruin the fun for everyone.
Thank you for the video! It is very useful! I am playing the game since recently and overall it is VERY ANNOYING! Games should be optimised for user experience, not to spend an hour to understand why a simple key function does not work... There is no logic in the method of key binding and certainly the game can be much better optimised! I feel it is just a bunch of DEVS who managed to built something nice, however the overall optimisation and user experience is left behind...
brother the game was designed around skill based mechanics wouldn't you expect people to try to learn it? Don't get me wrong role play and laid back Mordhau is wonderful.
@@KNGHTS I am waiting for this game to be upgraded and expanded to such levels where it is going to get officially classed as soem type of international sport, those would be the times :)
