The switches were lubed from the factory. The keyboards were not modded. Keychron Q3 Product Page: www.keychron.com/products/key... 00:00 Start 00:02 Gateron G Pro Red 01:27 Gateron G Pro Brown 02:52 Gateron G Pro Blue
Going to try and order a blue ISO EN one this week. I have been using a K8 that I got sounding and feeling pretty good, so hoping I can do the same with this.
@@spellfox_ lol best option IMO out of what comes with it, thinking of switching them to tungsten switches, love the rattly marble rolling sound those have when you do it right
Sounds good, can't wait for Tuesday at 10am EST to order mine. Have my tape and PE roll ready to go to fix that hollowness ;) The IC in r/mechmarket mentioned FR4 plates being available in the future, as well as brass and PC. These "aftermarket" plate comps are currently available for the Q1 as well. Any estimate on when those would release for the Q3?
That volume knobs/mute button is why I'm for sure getting this. With some 50 mil kilmat, pe foam mod, tape mod, and force break, I think this will sound amazing. The stabilizers stock sound... Rattle free 😳. I'm amazed and happy that I won't have to do any stabilizer mods
@@GeorgeWKush-lb4fc yep. I'm going to rebuild it though... I decided to put on these ceramic key caps that I initially liked, but I realized that I actually prefer plastic ones. Unfortunately, since ceramic is an extremely hard, and since which stems have a 0.05 mm tolerance to them, the keycaps ended up being a super tight fit on my gateron CJ's and kind of damaged them a little bit. Maybe I'll post a video of my final build of my Q3 if I order some more gateron CJ switches
@@amizan8653 Nice man. I'll leave the pbt caps on that they came with and just switch to other switches. Deciding between quiet a few switches but still got no clue what to go for. How did you do the alubutyl mod, did you stick it on the case? And did you put any tape on top so it doesn't contact the pcb?
@@GeorgeWKush-lb4fc I didn't stick it to the case because it turns out you don't actually have to. It's surprising but.... Even with the butyl sound deadener not being stuck onto the case, it still does a really good job removing case ping. I think those PBT keycaps that came with the Q3 will sound really good. Edit: I put a very thin layer of foam on top of the butyl sound deadener in order to alter the sound and also provide protection to the PCB. However, the q3 does come with a thin plastic sheet that is intended to go at the bottom of the case in order to prevent the PCB from making contact with the metal bottom. So you could just use that if you wanted to protect your PCB
@@KeychronKeyboard what if you put RGB light diffusers on the sides of the keyboard (like the graystudio apollo80). It would allow a spot for the wireless signal to escape as well as look aesthetically awesome!
@@shinjid3705 I have some thicker fabric tape on the inside of the keycap and over the top of the plates stabiliser cutout on my keyboards. Works wonders IMO.
The Keychron Q3 with the ISO layout is only available in the barebone version. You will need to purchase the ISO barebone version, ISO keycaps, and switches. You will also need to assemble them yourself.
@@KeychronKeyboard do u plan to make more keycap sets available as iso de? Currently there r only 3 sets and i dont really like the colors as i prefer more vibrant and saturated colors. Would be cool to have katakana legends combined as well.

There is nothing to be fixed. It just sounds like a space bar. Filling it with lube until it feels like jellow or putting bandaids under it to make it mushy doesn't mean it's a good. Of course, if you enjoy that, more power to you, but I think these kind of mods should be left for users to do for themselfs. See how things went when Glorious tried to make them.
terrible customer service.they won't give you a replacement even because of the quality issue.they will send you :Could you please kindly have it checked and fixed locally? We will help with the expense if a receipt is provided.
The space bar is murderous and the shift key was like an actual, physical assault to my ear drums. Please, for the love of all that is sacred, make it quieter! 😮💨
