@@Morax Indeed, I'm a power user and actually legit used every key in a full size for all the keyboard shortcuts and manipulating cursor with text. I don't think anyone else uses WINKEY+1-9 for the taskbar shortcuts, uses HOME/END + CTRL + SHIFT + ARROWKEYS to manipulate cursor in text by skipping/selecting entire words per keystroke, and use the DEL key to go back... Use the numpad for trading crypto, gotta type the numbers fast just cause I'm impatient. Maybe I could use a 96% but I don't want to retrain my muscle memory. If you don't use those keys for keyboard shortcuts, sure, you can take longer to do stuff and just have less keyboard, that's a no brainer. PEASANTS @beanieboii KEK jk
RIGHT!? Dude, I'm seriously baffled as to why damn near ALL of the "enthusiast keyboards" are the size of a deck of cards...I have a Special Edition Q6 ordered! 😁
I'm waaaaay too deep in the hobby. I have several "end game" boards. I had a bet with my buddies that the first full-size mechanical keyboard with QMK that was launched I would instabuy no questions asked, doesn't matter who makes it. I say had because the board arrives next Wednesday.
Already have 3 keyboards from Keychron. I love them all! But I still wait until there is a 100% full size wireless version with ALL features + ISO layout. Costs doesn’t matter!
Great review! I noticed that there is no num lock or caps lock on this keyboard? Does the four symbols on the top right corner a light indicator? I could not find information regarding that anywhere.
I don't understand why non backlit keycaps is the norm for these even tho they have LEDs. With the south facing LEDs apparently ordinary shine thru keycaps don't work well. So why the hell wouldn't keychron have any ones that do, on their website? Only the ISO version of the Q6 has different backlit keycaps with legend in lower left if you look closely. So why not just sell that keycap set too? None of this makes any sense. Seems basically every keyboard on the site specifically states keycaps "not shine-through". As though they know what people want but don't want to give it to them for some reason so they're sure to state it to avoid disappointment. Instead they have pointless backlighting in between the keys?? That's totally useless and would make seeing the keys in low ambient lighting even harder. The Q6 navy blue is the finest looking keyboard I've ever seen but no backlit keys :(
Lack of key backlit is quite important. Volume roller is difficult to access. It's better to be at the very edge, as in over 50% of attempts to quickly change volume you will be accidentally pressing F12 or Print Screen. AT version has single row Enter. Double-floor enter is more convenient. And why not skelethon construction? Skelethon is easier to maintain.
