Keyshia had helped me get through real tough shit, we're both from Oakland so I feel like she's a big sister to me I appreciate her honesty, realness and hoodness lol but anyways what I'm saying it comes a time in a woman's like when she fed up and needs to reflect and find herself again and I believe that's what's she's doing. I'll have to respectfully disagree with you in terms of the inability of the independent artist not being able to make quality music videos and / or music. There are plenty of independent artist out there making quality albums, making music videos, and receiving support from the public. Being an artist on a major label does not guarantee quality music videos, albums, and promotion. All artist are susceptible to bad videos. In the case of Keyshia Cole, I think she's not linking up with the proper video production crew to make quality videos. There are plenty of videos currently on RU-vid from independent music artist that are of quality. Keyshia Cole and her management team should have rejected this video and the "Do That For Me (B.A.B)" video for public release due to not meeting her brand's standards. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Interscope decided to release these videos only to meet a final contract obligation and nothing more.

If fans don't go and buy the album to show their support or the first week sales aren't good, then the record label is just going to look at it as a sign that people aren't interested in her anymore. Interscope can do as much promotion as they want. But if people aren't responding well or rather just download or buy the music from another source, then there's nothing else they can do
There are videos from brand new independent artists with no backing and they have videos that look better than this. She could have hired a college student with videographer/editing experience who wants to get into the business and ended up with a better video. Hell she could have filmed herself doing regular shit on a digital camera and ended up with a better video. This looks rushed. She needs to come correct and stop going for the 30 dolla holla cuz this is wack.

For most of you 90s babies, check TLC Baby Baby, What About Your Friends or R Kelly 12 Play to what am talking about. Music is straight from the heart, you either feel it or not. What Keyshia is doing is for purist and not pop.
You hit it right on the nail, that's exactly what it is! These labels don't support their artists no more so the artist has to come out their pockets. And people don't realize making videos is not cheap, even if it looks cheap.

She also worked with numerous amount of performers from different genres (Who else can name someone that can collaborate with Method Man and Sting, and then win Grammy Awards for working with the both of them?). Keyshia Cole could had been the next MJB, but that will never happen now because her music is stagnant, her behavior/demeanor is atrocious, and her personal life has all but been aired out on reality T.V... and on BET of all networks! I always felt her reality shows are one of many reasons that pigeonholed her as a singer of ''hoodrat anthems'' or ''ghetto chronicles''. Some of her songs are actually really good (''Love'', ''Heaven Sent'', ''I Just Want It To Be Over'', ''Let It Go''), but this very song and video are why she is labeled as this certain type of singer.

I do not care about the video be low budget. I care that she went from singing with passion to barley caring about the music she puts out. The first three albums of hers you felt her pain and it was beautiful. This album and the last feel so rushed that the songs do not feel the same.
My favorites so far is "believer" "trust and believe" "I just want it to be over" "I change my mind" hell all the first album videos oh!! And "Long way down" great quality and great filming looking forward to the next album I got fate in keyshia Cole. She keeps it real with us..we as fans keep it real with her.
