Four metropolitan police turn up to enforce the Shopping Mall's policies and have a pointless conversation with a pianist trying to play a public piano.
She should be prosecuted for wasting police time and threatening a member of the public, banned from the shopping centre for being a menace and looked at by social services regarding the welfare of her child.
This officer appears incompetent or more than likely the police are under instruction to not see both sides of the story, technically not filming on private properties renders most CCTV redundant ,in households ,shops, pubs etc, some officers shouldn't,t be employed as a school crossing patrol..
In the previous video she said "My mental health is at risk." Irrational fears, approaching people threatening violence. Now, she's told the police that she in fear for her life. THIS CRAZY IS EXACTLY WHY HE HAS TO FILM. /facepalm
Oh look, everyone jumping on the latest right wing line in the UK. He asked for the police to come himself to clarify the policy vs law. It literally has nothing to do with a tier system. You muppets.
This is outrageous. Four coppers for a man playing a piano and filming in a public area. I left the UK 20 years ago and it seems policing and got much worst. What a waste of police resources, you were right and they were looking for an easy nick.
You need to learn the law. The landowners authority means employees CAN physically remove someone from a PRIVATE shopping mall. It’s private property… NO legal right to film in there. It’s not a crime, or illegal to do so, but they can remove someone for filming.
The young lady is part of the problem, not holding these people account is irresponsible and only encourages their aggressive entitlement. I fear that the next person that she tries to get arrested under false allegations won’t be so lucky.
@@CarloRossiey I find it disturbing that you think my comment is suggesting that the woman who made threats should have pressed charges, your misunderstanding is perplexing and I fear hopeless.
@@jaysimpson6857 il say it again, he meant the one who GOT THREATENED, not the one making threats. You wanna talk about misunderstanding try learning to read 😂
These Karens will keep threatening the public until they actually are held accountable for disturbing the peace. The security personnel are bunch of clowns.
Ethnicity plays a Lot in it, 90%of the time if you're in a dispute with an ethnic and you're Whyte the other ethnics will take their side no matter what, I've just spent 2 decades living in a completely different hemisphere and the moment I come back to the UK I could see it.
No,it wasn't down to somebody playing a piano,it was all down to some entitled 'Karen' believing her wishes are more important than everybody else, or more commonly called narcissism.
As a former cop, I can tell you none of these officers knew exactly what to do. What they were hoping for was compliance by inferred repercussions. Goodness me, good to see you stand up for yourself Brendan👍
Oh my God. The Police Officers are a disgrace to their uniform. As a former Police officer it pains me to say this. What an embarrassing situation for Police and law enforcement.
Sad part of your statement is, you recognized a problem but you chose to ignore it and run away anyway. I will bet you joined up thinking you would make a difference. You didn't.
A disgrace to their uniform in more ways than one. What about the murder, rapes, misogyny, laughing and passing around dead body photos etc. This is what the police gets up to also. So yes they are a disgrace. They need to overhaul and get trusted people in and people that can police these waste of time situations. The whole thing is ridiculous as always. I wouldn’t see joining the police as a viable job as you’d be among criminals in uniform!
You’re a former police officer, I hope “former” because you couldn’t carry out the instructions that are imposed on police officers nowadays, anymore. It is very clear to people that have half a brain, that there is something very wrong with governments of the free Western world.
The biggest problem I have it that the mall KNOWS Brendan, they KNOW he plays the piano and KNOWS he films it. You can't say one moment you can film, then the next day you can't film. And yet how many film him while playing?
The “private mall” shouldn’t be allowed to basically invite people to play their piano and then have a Karen complain about the piano playing. That lady is mental for sure. Stand you’re ground
But this policy is what the owner of the shopping centre has a right of! It should be respected! He can play the piano and getting filmed, they told him that, so what is his bloody problem?! He goes on and on..Waste of energy! Just move on and play! That woman shouldn't be of Brendans concern at thiis point! He has a right to play and getting filmed! And he has prove on his camera that he didn't threaten the lady in any way!
What a colossal waste of all these Police Officers time. The Woman should be charged with being a public nuisance & the Mall Management should be charged with making a false claim to the Police.
@@yunoyuluvit really. why are they not? there was no crime..apart from a threat of violence..and they were far more interested in the idea that filming was not permitted by the policy of the shopping centre than anything else .but they ARE NOT policy enforcers, it is none of their business at all.
It’s private land with implied rights of access and the owner makes the rules and can withdraw the implication of right of access at any time. It’s not a police matter though.
@@MrAndrewFarrow You're correct, it's not a police matter that he was filming. They couldn't care less. They DO care about threats of physical violence, which is what they were there for. Once they realized that the threats were non-existent, or that the alleged victims refused to press charges, they were ready to head out. Brendan's arguing with them about the filming issue kept them there longer than they wanted to be there, obviously. Maybe Brendan should stop with the lame "don't you have anything better to do than harass me?" crap and realize that they do have better things to do, but he's sitting there wasting their time, arguing about nonsense that he can take up with the mall security office.
Filming on private property is a privalge, not a right. At best, they can ask you to leave and if you don't you are trespassing. This entire situation is stupid, but the security guard is correct.
@@oggyoggy1299 Apparently the police didn't understand that filming in a public venue is not illegal. Brendan stood his ground and stayed. The shopping center management also needs to understand.
@@richhunter6414 It's a private building with public access. They're still entitled to uphold their own policies. Brendan is going in circles when they've dealt with it the right way and he just thinks he knows better. Even pulled out the 'defaced union jack' nonsense when everyone and their dog uses some version of it with writing or emblems on it at football matches and protests.
The issue wasn't about basic law. It was about the policy of the shopping centre - which will vary from location to location. Not even a KC will know that without studying it for each mall.
@@richhunter6414 The shopping centre is not a public place - it's private property that gives access to the public, therefore it's for the owners of the shopping centre to make their own rules.
actually it is, by entering a private establishment, you are implicitly agreeing to follow the policies set forth and if you don't, you are free to leave or be guilty of tresspassing and possibly disturbing the peace any private facility has the right to refuse service, up to and including, admission to the property as long as their policy does not violate the law
@@MrLunarlander But they have camera's all around filming everybody, if it's what you are claiming is correct, they need to ask a permission to film you personally, aka there need to be someone at the entries asking everybody for their written permission. I'm sorry, but if they can film me, I can film there too.
If you go to a paintball range the policy is to wear eye protection. If you don't adhere to it you'll be asked to leave, and dragged out if necessary. Policies are enforceable.
It's the public that's there. The building is privately owned sure, but the people that are there ARE the public. Fair use has to be thing even in the UK I would think? There is nothing wrong with some bystanders ending up on the video. The intent of the video is the entertainment. So it should be all good.
He is NOT in public, if he was he would be right. He is on private property that is publically accessible (until that access with withdrawn). The coppers actually knew the law, DR K didnt.
@@turdwarbler I disagree. The public is there on their own accord. It's not a privately held gathering or anything like that. If one creates a space where the public enters, you have to deal with public rules, not private rules. A private company wouldn't be allowed to not let black people in, for example. Public rules. Sorry.
@@turdwarbler Wrong. Anywhere that is open to all of the public to come and go as they please is a "public space" under the law, even if that space is privately owned. Every part of Britain is owned by someone or some organisation, quite often by the Crown or local councils, even the pavement in a street is owned, so by your definition that places that are owned aren't public that would make it illegal to take any photos anywhere, and walking down the street would be trespass.
I am absolutely ashamed that not only do these police officers have no idea what they are doing but that they were actually deployed to this so called 'incident'...
Thought Britain defeated the you-know-who's back in the 1940s. Looks like it's been reinvented and installed right there in that mall. Are any Englishmen actually born in England anymore?
LOL, try telling Corporate security guards that. They have no idea what the law is and now the Police are no different. Give any fool a uniform and they make up their own rules inc the managers. Tossers, all of them.
You have no rights to do as you please on private premises even if they are open to public. You are subject to their rules. Otherwise they can evict you as a trespasser. Not a police matter though.
It was very noisy in that shopping centre. People talking loudly and shouting can be bad for mental health, but we can always walk away. That's what the woman could have done. Perhaps there was 'muzak' being played there too.
Entitled Karen that cannot tolerate someone else having fun. She approaches a filming camera to complain that she does not want to be filmed too. Not only is she so narcissistic that she thinks she rules the mall, she is also too stupid to realize her own actions ensured her and her unruly kid being immortalized on the web. Nice Job Mom. I wonder if she told the cops that spoke to her to turn off their BWCs. I hope the cops educated her and the mall staff on the right to peacefully film in public spaces and if there is something like a FOIA request process in Britain please request and post the footage of Karen's police interaction in hopes she can be shamed some more. Sadly though, you are probably right, the mall will remove the piano because heaven forbid there will be a few people that complain rather than having it there for the enjoyment of the rest of us.
8.57am NZ time. I just can’t believe what’s happening there. I’d be there patting you on the back for bringing some joy to an otherwise uneventful day. There’s always one Brendon. Attention seekers !
It sounds ridiculous the logic employed here. " You can film yourselves but the mall has a zero tolerance on filming others without consent." How can anyone even enforce that? She jumped in front of their camera then complains about being filmed. Looney bin female.
In A private building that is open for business IE Shopping Mall, the landlord/owner indeed has rights to include a policy like it or Not- most don't make a fuss, here's the thing tho- if things go sideways then the management Will! Think about it, its not that hard . !
@@paulbrutAgreed, sort of. Whilst it's true that there is no expectation of privacy in a public space and this is a public space, this space is also privately owned. It's open to the public but still private property. As the building owner/occupier, they are perfectly entitled to refuse entry or eject anyone from that property at any time. So, in order to appear reasonable, they produce a policy or guide to expectation for anyone on their property. You then have a choice to either accept those conditions or leave. If you contravene their conditions, you may be asked to leave or the police may be asked to assist them to eject you. However, there is also a commercial consideration, if you start ejecting people for petty contravention, you'll very soon have an empty shopping centre! To my mind, what should have been said to that woman by both security and plod was STFU or please leave. Similar to Brendan, we'd like you to play on but don't film or please leave. Simple.
@tessadowny5280 Well said,I couldn't agree more. These woke, two-tier policing, corporate shopping centre enforcers must be called out and recorded whenever they are encountered, how can they enforce the law if they don't know it?
Playing the piano in public and filming it wasn't the issue, Brendan went on and on about the law. If a private owned shopping mal doesn't want ptoplt filming, then respect that! Move on! They are allowed to play the piano and film him! It's the crazy lady that has a problem! I don't understand Brendan at all, to go on and on about it! It is what it is, it's their policy and sccept and move on! But you are allowed to play and getting filmed. So what's Brendan's problem? Just making a fuss because of the video?!
You can see the trouble on his face, because he may have to question the woman, and they are two tier policing, they are genuinely frightened to tackle her
I am so happy that the police wanted to get more information about how that Karen wanted to drag another woman out and assault her. The police wanting to see the footage of what was said. The policeman who said that store policy trump the law is infuriating. Thank you for standing up for yourself. Thank you for posting it.
High immigration & giving them more human rights than the indigenous population, otherwise they spout the Racist plea and get us arrested. They don't have to take an alegance to the Crown, but are allowed to do whatever they did in the country they came from.
I despair of the quality of today's police. They're utterly clueless, and they shy away from confronting difficult people, and harass ordinary people instead.
And that ladies and gentlemen is how the police act today in the UK. This is why you must always make the police explain themselves in front of a jury. They actually have no idea when to walk away
