Keytruda, the cancer drug used to treat the melanoma that had spread to former President Jimmy Carter’s brain, is already approved as a second-line cancer therapy, but a new study is showing it is effective as a first-line treatment. Dr. Natalie Azar tells TODAY that study participants on Keytruda were doing so well that doctors ended the trial early because it would be unethical not to give all the patients the drug.

Better read side effects. Horrible. I'm not taking it. Can destroy your organs. Cause dementia. If taken for two years can cause cancers to return. Bad crap

Kiran, I hope it helps him, but read my post I just left. Keytruda has the potential for serious and lethal side effects. You need to be aware of this so pay close attention, and tell the doctors to research antidotes to side effects. Usually they give steroids to reverse things.

I hope your dad is still around. I have Stage IV metastatic renal cell carcinoma, and Jimmy Carter had Stage IV melanoma with travel to his liver and brain. Liver and brain usually = dead, especially at 90, but Keytruda saved him. Saving me too.

Trying this with an anaplastic astrocytoma brain tumor, looking good so far and no symptoms brought on by the treatment unlike the Temodar I had taken on two previous treatment rounds.

Start searching alternative cancer treatments, there is so much out there including metabolic cancer treatment, fasting, ivermectin, fenbendazole and so much more. IV vitamin C, B17, curcumin. But also and most importantly put your trust in Jesus Christ. Miracles happen and eternity is forever. Don’t give up!

That drug did not work for my mother it made her cancer spread to her brain she passed on January 4th 2021 I am beyond heartbroken I got to spend 35 wonderful years with my mom sad her life got taken at the young age of 60. R.I.P mom gone but forever in my heart.
@davidlindgren7605
@davidlindgren7605 3 года назад
@@princesstgabriel5812 Prestina, I'm sorry about your mother, but do you know for sure the Keytruda caused the cancer to spread? In my Mom's case, she reacted badly to the Keytruda and it attacked her organs like liver and heart. Keytruda is known to do that, and perhaps the same thing happened to your mother? However it happened, Keytruda is a dangerous drug that works for only for some people. Anyone on it needs to be watched carefully for side effects, and most importantly, the doctor needs to have a plan to reverse ill effects if they develop. You don't want the patient taken to a hospital, only to find doctors there scrambling trying to understand the drug and what antidotes they can use.

Now at 2024 it cost $200,000.00 for a cancer patient to avail such treatment and giving Merck's $25 Billion revenue. Indeed, conflicting.

Everything has risk. If a person who had heart failure with it didn't take it, the cancer would have killed them. This drug is FAR better tolerated than most chemo.

I took it every three weeks via IV for metastatic melanoma. Saved my life but it cost $27,000 US per treatment times 35 doses totaling over $900,000! Medicare paid most of the "allowable" amount which was a close to half the billed amount. And my private insurance paid the balance. So it didn't cost me a thing.

How does a drug with so many detrimental side effects gets FDA approval? Also, why are natural drugs unable to get FDA approval? Money answers all things.
@goodrich50
@goodrich50 6 лет назад
Because Natural drugs are not regulated by the FDA because 1000’s were tested and 3/4 of these Natural drugs most didn’t even have the ingredients in them that was on the label plus Natural drugs, vitamins etc. can actually give you cancer as a lot of these drugs contained carcinogens and more that can give you cancer. Even vitamins are extremely dangerous.

My oncologist said Keytruda has low # of side effects. I trust his knowledge and experience when compared to yours. What are your bonafides? BTW I'm taking K and feel fine - no side effects whatever.
@davidlindgren7605
@davidlindgren7605 3 года назад
@@Riqrob Low number of side effects is irrelevant if one of those side effects kills a person. You might be a lucky one who feels fine. Count your blessings, but not everyone has zero side effects. The drug may very well be beneficial to some people, but it's also risky and needs to be used carefully.
@Riqrob
@Riqrob 3 года назад
@@davidlindgren7605 Update: 2 years later. I did develop some side effects including pain in past-injured places in my arms and shoulders during treatment. That's about it. K killed most of my prostate cancer ((95%) b4 they removed it. (It was a very active type of C) Now prostate cancer free 100%.
@davidlindgren7605
@davidlindgren7605 3 года назад
@@Riqrob I'm glad it worked so well for you! 90% of people have no problems with it, but some 10% do, and even worse, if the doctors are not knowledgeable about what to do to reverse the side effects (giving steriods usually), those side effects can be deadly.
