In part 1 we travel up the stunning Vanrhyns Pass to Niewoudtville and stay over at Papkuilsfontein in their wonderful renovated stone cottage Rondekraal. We also take a drive to the Oorlogskloof Canyon on the farm.
The next day we travel to Kakamas passing through Calvinia, Brandvlei and Kenhardt. We stay at Khamkirri on the Orange River in safari tents. This is a must visit.

Shoo , you say its 32deg in Papkuilsfontein - and you are theoretically still in your winter! What will summer be like!? It was very interesting watching you going up Vanrhynspass , as I went up in 2016 - in the flower season( early September - I think). The plain below was so much more demarcated when we went up - but its so interesting comparing the landscape from season to season! which your photography permitted me to do. If you go back to Niewoudville in the flower season - its well worth the visit - purely for a cultural experience - the flowers for us were good too. l love photographing the flora and fauna; but the Voorkamerfees which was going on in every town we stayed in, was very interesting as well.. In fact its a fascinating area for a host of reasons. I hadn't seen the glacial pavement - but that too was a treat to see.Thank you so much for posting it.

Hi Louri, no not Australia, we are in South Africa. Most of our videos are filmed here, although there are a few of earlier videos taken in Namibia and Botswana. Glad that you enjoyed this video, check out the others.
