When yI do go out, I drink soda water and feel fantastic the next day and am so much more productive. I guess my focus and priorities changed BIG TIME! As someone who used to drink on the weekends in college and currently doesn't really drink at all, no. Alcohol isn't the root of all evil. Alcohol is a drug like any other that can be abused or used responsibily.

Was pretty much an alcoholic at 16 and it messed me up pretty bad and my grandfather is struggling to survive from it after going into organ failure from it. So when God judges you, he is not choosing whether you go to heaven or hell because you already made it to heaven based on your conscience decision to follow him. God will judge you based on your works you did on this earth to determine what rewards you will get in heaven. God knows you can do this, your emotions will have you thinking that it's harder than what it really is. He will forgive anyone for anything but they have to truly regret it and want to be forgiven. I know it might feel like God is overreacting but if you just take a look back at all the evil things you did in your life you'll realize how wonderful God is to make a way for you..
As a social drinker who never really drinks at home/alone with my fiancée, this is definitely spot on. Alcohol makes assholes even moreso, and makes normal people make bad decisions. It sucks that 80 years ago alcohol lost the battle vs marijuana.

If a person truly receives Jesus in his heart and drops dead before the baptismal service, without a doubt, heaven will be his eternal home. The thief on the cross can attest to that. The only unforgivable sin is never receiving Jesus as savior and Lord. When the bible speaks of blaspheming against the holy spirit, it is in reference to the prideful pharisees who were attributing the works of Jesus to the devil and trying to entrap the lord. It's not your fault, there's genetic factors to Addiction. Your brain will give you excuses, but in reality it's the genetic component of addiction. That's why everyone should refrain from any vices as they never know what they might get addicted to. And to those saying Have Some Fun, Live a little, to them there's other options for adrenaline rush. Pick a sport, do yoga, get into a ring, do boxing or jiu Jitsu, start cooking, do competitive cycling indoors using your smartphone, find a hobbie. There's always a reason to indulge in Vices of Dugs and Alcohol and there's always a reason Not to. And yes Weed is a drug too.

I know some people who drink regularly because of work and needing to do business together they tend to drink to get to know if they can trust them. But actually one of the nicest most genuine man I know. Even someone stole from him when he was isolating in a hotel with COVID. They took his medicines that were hard to get at the time. he said I won’t call the hotel staff because they must need it more than I do. Not everyone who drinks is going to end up like some super bad person with no hope. This is a man who sacrifices all for his family and has lifted them out of poverty to an upper class life.
plenty of poor athletes became rich and did not stay humble. even without drinking. look at tyson. so what is true for one person is not true for every other. people choose to kill other innocent people in the name of money or imaginary friends without drinking. thats way worse

Using a little bit of red wine in cooking is not as bad as getting drunk I think. I have stopped drinking a long time ago but I do use red wine a bit while cooking Mediterranean cuisine.

I think he is talking about everyone, not only Conor. Those who came from poor lives who became successful and started using drugs and/or alcohol (for example Mike Tyson, Justin Bieber in 2014-17, Eminem 1999-2006, Britney Spears, B.J. Penn, and other famous celebrities and athletes etc). People in the entertainment industry once they experience success they become complacent, so they use drugs and alcohol until they lose themselves and everyone. This is why I am a fan of Khabib as a person. He is so wise, intelligent, honorable and hardworking for a fighter.
Alcohol is the drug amongst drugs, many people neglect the danger that it possesses, i simply don’t understand how it’s not illegal when it’s more dangerous than heroin and cocaine combined!
